The Shining is also great. I agree with everything NothingFails said.
You liked A Clockwork Orange?!
it's not a happy or pleasant movie, but it is very well-done and Malcolm McDowell was fantastic in the role

I think that many people don't think much about what "real" dance is and what isn't.
If you have fast beats and if you can dance to it, it's related to dance - that's how most of folks think I'm sure.

That's why dance fans cringe at LMFAO. Working with Paris Hilton?!!? First of all, she's about six years out of date, and plus she represents the type of frivolous type of famous for nothing "celebrity" that makes people think dance music embraces. You'd never see deadmau5 do this.

I agree, I only heard praising for this movie (The Shining too), I even lent my co-worker my blu-ray copy and he loved it too

with some of Stanley Kubrick flims, it's easier to find negative opinions, like how many people say 2001: A Space Odyssey is boring, etc..

Uh...yeah...

It's definitely a classic and it's well-made...but it was rather...unpleasant.

Although, I will say that there wasn't a dull moment throughout that entire movie. And it was well-made.

Maybe I should return to it in a couple years or so.

I'm still pretty young and idealistic so it's quite possible that I just wasn't mature enough to swallow such a jagged little pill.

You guys understand what I'm saying?

Unpleasant? Titan you're cute. How old are you by the way? :D

It's strange I used to love depressing movies but lately I just can't watch a film that will make me feel depressed afterwards, maybe I'm getting happier!? :o

You'd be surprised if I told you how often I get that.

But I can't tell if you're using it to compliment me or if you're using to mock me?

How old are you by the way? :D
Too young for you.

Nah, I'm playing. I'm 19.

Of course I do. Even 2001 wouldn't be that touching and inspiring for me if weren't the moments I came through last year.

I consider it a mature attitude to recognize that maybe it's not the perfect time to watch it. Clockwork Orange is worth another chances.

Still, no problem if you don't like it at all. At the end of the day, is the subjectivity what makes film that special experience.

I love how you dissected my whole comment, bless! (being intentionally patronising) I'm only 5 years older than you.

I just think the film was never meant to be pleasant, hence why it made me laugh. ;) We are all different, films mean different things for different people and your mood also goes towards whether you'll enjoy/appreciate a movie or not. (This goes for most things actually) :D

Say what you want to say about Taylor Swift, but she's at least a true artist, maybe she's no good in y'all's opinion, but an artist she is.

She has definitely come a long way from her "Tim McGraw" days.

I was surprised when I found out that Speak Now was so mature.

...ummm...

5 years is actually a significant difference in age.

But I'm still too young for you.

I'd go further than that and say that Desperate Housewives is the best show to have ever graced television.

^^^ @Akini, Now that is unpopular!

The first season is probably one of the best seasons of TV ever made but the series as a whole was too inconsistent to be classed as the best show to ever grace a TV screen!

You're gonna have to excuse me. The show just ended so I'm sort of an emotional mess at the moment.

I actually think DH is way more consistent than it's given credit for. Sure, there have been a few unnecessary storylines but no show is perfect. It's just that DH is the closest thing to perfection I've found so far.
