yep, selling 500,000 copies is amazing. Who would have thought that he would be the longest lasting casting star?

Such an excellent album, I love the 80's-style production on some of the tracks, such as Losing Myself. Richard X excelled with the production.

Just downloaded Believe, the b-side to Losing Myself, such a perfect track! Can't believe it was on the album tracklisting. With tracks such as Believe and The Way I See missing the album, I'd love to hear what other tracks didn't make the final cut. I bet the leftover material from Echoes is a goldmine for the ears.

I agree with you! I think it's his best album! Great to see him having lots of success after all these years! Hopefuly many more to come!

I totally agree. For me, Will's albums, overall, have lacked a personality and a direction. Echoes has managed to craft a sound for Will, which I hope he continues with. This album is definitely a peak for him, and his best album IMO.

9 months on... I'm still loving this. One of the best written pop albums of the last few years.

Not happy about this choice

Silent Valentine
Happy Now
Hearts On Fire

would have been better. May be the video will save it?

Will Young has revealed that he is to move away from Sony Music after ten years with the label.

In the closing paragraphs of his autobiography ‘Funny Peculiar’, released on October 11, Young wrote:

“I think I'm at a crossroads. My album deal is up and as I write I'm in the process of signing to Island Records. I'm more excited about my music than ever.”

In 2002, Young was the winner of the inaugural series of Pop Idol, the popular TV format that was to be succeeded in the market by The X Factor after two series.

His debut single Anything Is Possible/Evergeen became the fastest-selling debut single in the UK and he went on to release six albums in 10 years through Sony Music that all achieved platinum status in the UK – the biggest-selling of which was 2003’s Friday’s Child which was certified 5 times platinum in the UK.

Hope it goes well for him, he's had a great ten years at Sony. Really want his next album to be in the same vein of "Echoes" if not even dancier.

To be honest, I couldn't care less, whether he's at Sony or not. I just hope that they keep releasing his albums on German iTunes.

I have to admit that I've never been into his music at all, but "Echoes" has changed everything. I really hope that he continues releasing such amazing albums.

Btw, here's my ranking for "Echoes":

01 Jealousy 10/10
02 Come On 07/10
03 Lie Next To Me 08/10
04 I Just Want A Lover 10/10
05 Runaway 08/10
06 Outsider 10/10
07 Silent Valentine 09/10
08 Losing Myself 09/10
09 Personal Thunder 06/10
10 Hearts On Fire 08/10
11 Happy Now 10/10
12 Good Things 05/10
13 Safe From Harm 02/10

Total: 102/130
Average: 7,8/10

Favourite track: I Just Want A Lover
When you're ready come and get it.
