I agree with you! I think they do go too far! Even with my disagreement with many things, all of that isn't necessary if there is no immediate harm or danger to anyone.

However, can you say that Gaga hasn't done too much? At all???
"Take A Bow"... Rihanna's ONLY ballad to go #1 on the Hot 100 (also topped the R&B Chart)... Great deed for her most epic ballad!!!

And it not doing so doesn't make them ignorant or wrong. It makes them human - like you. It means they have feelings, sensitivity, morals of whatever level and beliefs.

And for many it was simply a blatant push to the LGBT movement, and not a generalized "self-appreciation" song.
I wouldn't cross the street for Gaga, I can't stand her and especially her fans.

But... when gay people are being bullied and driven to suicide and you have Fox News claiming that Obama declared "war on marriage" for demanding equality, what is so wrong about Gaga coming out with such a blatant pro-gay song? Its hardly like she was the first... Diana Ross' "I'm Coming Out" or Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" anyone? And yes, both Diana and Cyndi dedicate those songs to their gay fans in concert and the sort.

"Born This Way" didn't impact me in any way. I don't need some delusional pop star to tell me that there's nothing wrong with who I am, because I'm already fully aware of that. In fact, I don't even fully agree with the "born this way" argument - firstly, because I don't think I need an excuse to be gay, and secondly, because it's perfectly possible for sexuality to be deterined by both nature and nurture.

I understand that its message won't sit well with people that, bizarrely, think sexual orientation is chosen, but I don't think it's even remotely rational to stop the thousands of people that receieved her message well from attending a pop concert. She's not standing up on stage and telling people to murder anyone, she's not ripping up holy books and hypnotising her gay fanbase to tear down their local churches, and she's not advocating a life of devil-worshipping; she's just twirling around in a wacky outfit and running up and down a rainbow-lit castle. It's hardly worth all the uproar.

I was watching news earlier and Gaga was protested by some religious groups in the Philippines. I am a Catholic but I don't think it's fair for Gaga to be treated like this. I don't think those religious groups are being pro-human with this kind of protests. Gaga is just a singer, a performer, there are so many people out there who do more crucial things than her. Just because she is accused of being satanic doesn't give those people the right to step on her. I feel sad because of this. Religious groups should be the first to promote equality and fairness in society. Yet, they do insane things like this.

I don't say this as a Gaga fan, but as a Catholic and a human. If God has forgiven even the worst sin a human has made, why can't people forgive one's mistake? No one is made perfect. All of us make mistakes.

Now that I see it, it is really impossible to have peace and unity in this world. Some people keep saying "Peace be with you." when they attend mass but if they keep hating on someone, I don't think they really mean those four words they keep on saying in mass.

I don't know what's happening to the world but I'm really sad that the peace we are longing for is nearly impossible.

It seems like The Philipines are NOT buying this BS and will allow her to perform there...

She did both Manilla shows (yesterday and today) and is still detirmened to do Indonesia.

?@ladygaga
The Jakarta situation is 2-fold: Indonesian authorities demand I censor the show & religious extremist separately, are threatening violence

If the show does go on as scheduled, I will perform the BTWBall alone.
Also she said this today during Hair

"Today, it was all over the news that if I do the concert in Jakarta, I would get shot at or some **** shit. Well you know what, the truth is that to be worried about getting shot at any country around the world because of who you are in itself is a **** travesty and it's exactly what we need to be talking about. Not everyone needs to be violent, or violence in any form."

I don't love her or fall for her, but she's a free spirit, and I actually give her props for this... if it eventually does get cancelled or stuff like this, I will respect her if she performs on her own... but what exactly does she mean "on her own?"??? Meaning, she's not going with her band and stuff?

"We have gotten Lady Gaga tickets, not to watch but for us to enter. Whatever will be will be, we're ready for the risk."
Apparently, these organizations have purchased over 150 tickets to go IN the venue and stop her and her crew from performing...
it's just absurd IMO...

Hard-line group the Islamic Defenders Front has purchased 150 tickets to upcoming Lady Gaga concert, which it will use to enter the venue and stop the show, a spokesman for the group said on Monday.

“The tickets are original, the price around Rp 400,000 [each],” FPI’s Bekasi chapter chairman Murhali said on Monday as quoted by detik.com.

Murhali had posted on his Facebook account a picture of an FPI member, wearing a turban and sunglasses to conceal his face, holding a ticket.

The photo’s caption said, “We have gotten Lady Gaga tickets, not to watch [the concert] but for us to enter. Whatever will be will be, we’re ready for the risk.”

Murhali told detik.com that FPI was ready to stop the concert, but he stressed that FPI would not attack the audience. The only target was Lady Gaga and her crew, he said.

“Hopefully, the concert is canceled,” Murhali said. “We have sent a letter to Lady Gaga through our friends in Canada.

“We hope [the promoter] will return the money if the concert canceled.”

FPI has previously threatened to intercept Lady Gaga on her way from the airport if she dares set foot in Jakarta.
The Jakarta Police say they were ready dispatch 4,000 officers to secure Lady Gaga’s Jakarta concert, scheduled for June 3, and warned the Islamic Defenders Front against attempting to mess up with the show.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said on Tuesday that his office was awaiting the National Police’s final decision regarding the concert, regarding whether to issue it the permit it needs to go on.

If the National Police grant the permit, the Jakarta Police would dispatch between 2,000 and 4,000 personnel to secure the concert, Rikwanto said.

“We’ll anticipate any possibilities. We’re even ready to smuggle some police officers into the middle of the crowd of audience,” he said, adding that the officers would not wear their uniforms.

:o Seeing the above picture got me shocked for the very first time !
I DO think she should cancel this concert. It´s sad but it´s the best and, more importantly, the right thing to do ! It is indeed a pretty strong/shocking image!
We all know what fanatics like those are capable of !They believe they have nothing to lose and don´t care about what may happen to them or their lives !
Their beliefs are above all the rest!

So many people here buy into this Illuminati nonsense (and of course see Gaga as a tool of it as well). No, if you want to look at the New World Order, it's brought on by these assholes who demand everything to be like them. These hateful racist tools who can't handle or accept the idea that maybe some people out there like Gaga and want to see their concert, because she has to be stopped because THEY don't like what she stands for. Do you know how many crappy conservative-courting bands have come to my town over the past few years? People like Ted Nugent and Nickelback make me sick to my stomach, and even Sarah Palin came to town for some seminar. These people offend me to the core with their hate and bigotry but I do what any American should do when something you don't like comes to town... I just pay them no mind and don't support them.

These terrorists have no idea the army of queens that Gaga has built up. Let's face it, if even Madonna isn't seen as off-limits for them to go after, what makes them think a bunch of women haters who conceal their identity are going to not be fair game?

Not so fast, dude.

These are not Western people.

They do not think like Westerners and they do not act like Westerners.

I really wish you would not hold them to the tremendously flawed moral codes of Western society.

About Lady Gaga's Monsters? They don't care about Lady Gaga herself. How do you expect them to care about her crazy fans?

That's like expecting a steel-toed boot to care about an ant.

Islam is a crazy religion...but I wouldn't call them women haters.

^Absolutely ! Even though I tend not to believe in those who brag about something we all know these fanatics have no limits !
It´s entirely different comparing them to catolics or basically any other western religious groups.

It's not even about religion.

It's about an entire culture.

You guys believe in the whole "everything is relative" philosophy, right? The whole "live and let live" thing?

Well...that's how they do stuff over there. Live and let live, I guess.

I don't like Lady Gaga. But if she really wants to perform there in spite of, I hope she takes some extra precautions.

In this case it´s beyond artists preferences .
As you´ve said it´s cultural and their culture is based ,primarily, on religion but they take religion to a whole other level .It´s even bigger or more important than their own lives (or the lives of those who threatens their idea of what is right or not).
So, I´m pretty sure they will do whatever it takes to show they are not kidding ! And even though I may be sounding childish I strongly believe they should not be taken for granted!

But at the same time, these people do not realize how insane Gaga's monsters are.

If even someone like Madonna isn't considered important enough to not go after after the whole "reductive" thing, the monsters won't even think twice about a bunch of batshit terrorists. She has one of the most rabid fanbases on the internet (along with Beyonce). It reminds me of the argument that if Mark David Chapman ever got out of jail, there'd be Beatle fans willing to take him out, but Gaga fans are worse than Beatle fans ever were. They have no idea who they are messing with.

Oh god, I can almost picture an army for Gaga, a bunch of people in leather and short-shorts with weapons stashed in their boots LOL.

Imagine something did happen, a Monster would pull out a grenade and yell "this is for Gaga muthaf***a!!" LOL
