Demi may be unknown in Europe, but X Factor US is a US show (and guess what, most Americans would think you mispronounced Sheryl Crow's name when you say Cheryl Cole, it goes both ways LOL). She definitely is well known here. Unlike people like Miley and Selena Gomez, she was the one who was such a rising star that Disney had to capitalize on her growing popularity and give her a show, unlike how the other two had their own shows and became stars afterwards.

Demi has a very good voice but lacks the experience while Britney doesn't really have the voice but has the experience!

This season will be really interesting to watch, it will bring in so many viewers because of Britney!

Demi on the Xfactor? Well, she has supporters but she can't sell albums, so might as well get the free publicity and viewers.

But in seriousness, she's a judge? what life lessons has she learnt in the music business? what can she possibly offer to say a 50 year old veteran auditioning?

Judging should be not a problem overall, since she can give singing advice and stuff but the coaching of a category will be a problem. She has no experience and the experience she has is mostly from her Disney days, and imo. most of that is manufactured, so it will be interesting what she is gonna advice since with Unbroken she basically just began a proper career herself.

But I can see the producers giving her the boys or girls, and maybe bring a special guests in some times, to help her to guide and coach the contestants.

I don't understand why Demi Lovato is going to be a judge on this show...
She never had a huge hit, she never had a successful album (her best-selling just reached Gold), she's never even been the No. 1 teen actress (which were Miley Cyrus & Selena Gomez at that time).

Her last album collapsed and she's not having a lot of experience in the business to really prepare the candidates how to have a long and successful career...

I don't listen to the album from 1-14, I listen from track 5 to 14.... skip WTB, YMOS & Together, they are horrible (ANL is ok)...but; Lightweight, Unbroken, Fix A Heart, Give Your Heart A Break & Skyscraper are epic

Watching the official announcement, they obviously hired Demi to represent the current generation. I think that's logical, considering that she knows how to perform and she is updated with the latest trends in music. I'm sure she will relate to the younger talents who will audition.

I don't get the hate towards Demi being an X-factor judge.

People that claim she can't sing and doesn't have any talent, clearly haven't heard her sing. She has a great voice and can sing damn well live.

Yeah she's young but she has lots of experience and by adding a young judge, it keeps the judging panel fresh.
