I got the album this week and I really like it. Although there are a couple of electropop tracks, he mainly sticks to commercial R&B. It's nice to hear a commercial R&B album again.

It charted at #92 in the end.

He's auditioned for The X Factor! :o

From Unreality TV:

X Factor 2012 spoilers: Starboy Nathan auditions in Manchester – having previously supported JLS and N Dubz!
June 6th, 2012 by Lisa McGarry.

The X Factor rules have all changed this year and for the first time ever, singers with management deals are permitted to try out for the ITV show.

Starboy Nathan took advantage of the new regulations yesterday and auditioned for Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Tulisa Contostavlos and Mel B when they hit Manchester.

The 26 year old singer is most famous for his Top 40 Singles “Come into My Room” and “Diamonds” and has previously supported The Wanted, Tulisa’s group N-Dubz and former X Factor runners up JLS on tour.

He has 82,000 followers on Twitter, however his last single – titled Hangover – was released on 12 September and only reached number 92 on the UK single’s chart, so he obviously thought his career could do with a bit of a boost, hence his X Factor entry.

We can’t reveal too much about what happened yesterday, but we think it’s fair to say that Nathan was a big hit with the crowd at least.

One audience member wrote on his Facebook page:

‘Saw you today at xfactor! I was like omg!!! You were amazing btw! You will go far!’

Another gushed:

‘Saw you today at xfactor! You were amazin! So shocked when you walked out on stage! X fingers crossed for you! X’

Audience members told Unreality TV that Tulisa recognised her pal at once and was especially positive about his performance.

Having previously starred in E4?s Big Brother Celebrity Hijack, Nathan admitted last year that he would consider entering the X Factor if he didn’t have a record deal. He told Metro:

‘I’ve done so many talent shows and I like competing, so if I didn’t have a record deal I’d have 100 per cent done The X Factor. It’s about having talent, not eating pigs’ balls.’
