Hmmm That's not how I remembered it...

Thought it was the other way around.
you should watch the performance again then
Yeah I Watched again and J hud overpowered Bey a bit. When Beyonce first came in with that F#5, Jennifer was already in the middle of singing a note, and was basically half way through that said belt. While they were singing together I could barely hear Bey,I don't know if it was because of the harmonizing and it was just that Bey was singing too low.

Jennifer's Voice is a bit Thicker and heavier tonality wise. Another thing is that while Bey does have a powerful voice, she overuses her growl sometimes to make her belts sound more powerful, you can tell when she trying real hard. She put more effort into her belting where as Jennifer wasn't trying as hard.

Also at the end of the medley with Anika, that last and final belt that they all sustained..all i heard was J-Hud's loud ass again.

Though Bey has a better tone, texture and better control over her voice. J hud can get shouty sometimes... =/

Both have flaws, but both are great In there own ways.

I would agree that Jennifer was being loud and shouty all through that performance, but lacked resonance.Jennifer was clearly belting(an F5 too) at the same time when Beyonce made that entrance belt, just that Beyonce's F5 note had more resonance than Jhud's .Plus when they both performed Listen, Jhud couldn't do the vocal scale/belt combo correctly and stumbled. As for the medley, Jhud was being self indulgent with shouty vocals, but once Anika belt that high note(with resonance)she did drown her out. Interesting enough, during that era,Beyonce was still finding her voice and going through her vocal evolution. It wasn't until she took on Etta James role that she found it and the i am tour did strengthen it,making it even more powerful than before. In my opinion, she's the only one(out of her peers) that carries on Whitney Houston's vocal legacy of bridging the vocal stylings of Aretha Franklin and Barbra Streisand.

Right! Screamtina can't even belt past E5(Live) without straining and screeching. How is she going to be more powerful than a singer that belts F5s with ease and resonance?!?

Andre Leon Talley and Ralph Rucci On Beyoncé’s Met Ball Gown and How Dressing Kim Kardashian Would ‘Bastardize’ a Designer
On why Beyonce was late for the Met Ball:

Andre Leon Talley: Beyonce was not slated to come. She decided to come last minute when the dress [which he later said took 350 hours to sew] arrived at her house. She tried it on and then she said, ‘okay, I have to come.’ She did arrive at 8:55 and the ball had already started but it didn’t matter because she is Beyonce.

"If I get thrown in jail, Beyonce will just bail me out," says Gaga. Um, sorry, what? (From mirror.co.uk)

It’s still unclear if the Gaga’s Indonesian concert will go ahead, but she finally speaks out on the situation.

There’s been a whole load of drama over Lady Gaga’s sold out concert in Jakarta, with religious groups condemning the star’s provocative outfits and raunchy dance routines and saying they wanted the gig cancelled.

Until now that is. This morning she has Tweeted on the difficult subject and said if the 52,000 seat concert on June 3 does go ahead, it will just be her performing on her own.

Still, she’s prepared to suffer for her art it seems, even if it means a spell in the clink, because she has friends in high places.

“And don't worry, if I get thrown in jail in Manila, Beyonce will just bail me out. Sold out night 2 in the Philippines. I love it here!”

We’re not sure if Beyonce was asked about this first, but let's hope so.

Oh my God ,I dont even have any good memories of Xtina's voice left in my head anymore.Everytime I think about the "The vocie of this generation"(<<Not)

I flashback to when she destroyed the national Anthem last year.... :-?

BTW I guess you're right on the J-hud thing. There were parts where I heard Jennifer more, and parts where Bey shined J-Hud may have the raw power, but she can get shouty sometimes.Beyonce is a far better technical vocalist though, she has much more efficiency and control with her vocals.
