I love Leave Me Alone, the video is epic!

Remember The Time is another great song, the choreography in the video is amazing, never get sick of watching it.

The Thriller video is a masterpiece, the song is a classic.

You Rock My World is very catchy, a great song.

YOU ROCK MY WORLD-it could have been so much . if sony would approve mj's vision to promote the album (which is one of my fav albums. even my friend likes more than thriller).i read somewhere mj wanted unbreakable to be 1st single,2nd you rock my world. he even had the vid envisioned (it would have like mj would be on top of a building that was under construction, held over the edge by some ,and he would let him go. it'd seem like he was dead. slowly ,his body parts would come together. he would turn into fire-dancing on fire from scaffold to scaffold as his body parts reassembled themselves) .invincible had so much potential. it was ahead of its time, i love it

18. Butterflies (2002)
Image
* PROMO SINGLE *
US: #14 / UK: --

AUDIO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wthgd_Rg1qg

His most 'unusual' hit ever! 'Butterflies' had ZERO promo (no music video, no performance, no proper single release), but become one his biggest radio hits of all time, and ended as the #12 most successful R&B/Hip-Hop single of 2002, according to Billboard, what means his highest results since 'Billie Jean' made the no. 2 song and 'The Girls Is Mine' no. 6, back in 1983.

It's one of my favourite ballads... so catchy and beautiful! Lovely vocals.
17. You Are Not Alone (1995)
Image
US: #1 / UK: #1

SHORT-FILM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAyKJAtDNCw

Some people find it cheesy, but I think it's MJ's ULTIMATE LOVE SONG! It's utterly beautiful, despite its simple lyrics. One of the highlights of HIStory!

>> YANA holds the Guinness World Record for the first song ever to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It's also his last #1 single on that chart.

>> The songwriter R. Kelly later covered the song for his Love Letter (2010) album. CHECK IT OUT!

"You Are Not Alone" is one of my all-time fave MJ tunes. Shortly after his death, that song even moved me to tears. It's such an emotional ballad!

Such a crime that Butterflies wasn't promoted stronger. It actually did fairly well in the US considering he didn't promote it at all, but I could only imagine how big it would've been with a video

I still remember that night.....

I played You're Not Alone back to back and could not just stop crying. Seeing the news all over CNN I even threw and broke some stuff

That song is just marvellous :cry:

YANA used to be a fave, but there is something quite sickly about it's sound, can get a bit dreary after some time, but it's sentiment is good.

I can see where YANA was so sad on that awful day. For me it was Will You Be There that really hit especially hard, especially the spoken word section at the end, that and Childhood are both serious tear-jerkers. A lot of the younger Motown ballads I still have a hard time with because of the innocence in songs like Ben and One Day In Your Life, knowing that these really sad beautiful songs sung by a young man are now by someone who has passed on.

Still hard to believe he's really gone and it's been almost three years.

Yep, time really does fly nowadays. I remember being a fan of the original Charlie's Angels already being bummed that day when I woke to the news of Farrah, which already was a pretty big loss... then I remember out of nowhere around 4-5 they started talking about MJ being rushed to the hospital. I remember thinking that he'd pull through then TMZ broke the news before they were supposed to. Definitely one of the worst days any music fan has lived through. I think seeing "This Is It" in the theater was really the moment it really hit home that he really is gone, because for awhile he was everywhere on the radio and in the press that it almost felt like he was still here.

16. This Is It (2009)
Image
* PROMO SINGLE *

SHORT-FILM (directed by Spike Lee): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GE2JgCfhu64
SHORT-FILM (Alternative Version): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_SLU3m6uCA

Not really a fave of many fans. Otherwise, 'This Is It' has a very special meaning for me. It's my most-played song since 2008, according to Last.FM, and I've never got bored!

Actually, it's just a demo recorded in 1983 (and its real title isn't even 'This Is It', but 'Never Heard'), but this song is so special, so magic to me... well, I can't describe this feeling.
15. Stranger In Moscow (1996)
Image
US: #91 / UK: #4

SHORT-FILM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEEMi2j6lYE&ob=av2n

I'd say it's his most interesting composition: 'Stranger In Moscow' doesn't sound like a pop song at all, it's minimalist and kind of gloomy. It's also a 100% MJ song (he was the writer and producer), what shows how amazing were his productions.

>> There's a very curious detail about its instrumental: Michael is an uncredited composer of 'Sonic - The Hedgehog 3' music, and its ENDING MUSIC sounds an early version of 'Stranger In Moscow'! Despite several rumours, this information was only confirmed by Brad Buxer in 2009.

This Is It charting this high... not a surprise to me because I already told that you have a unique taste in MJ tunes :wink:

Stanger In Moscow is Michael at his ultimate best. The way he lets the passion out towards the end of the songs is just....

Sure, specially because 'Sonic 3' was released one year before 'HIStory'! :D

MJ songs on 'Sonic 3' (1993/1994):
* Stranger In Moscow
* Black Or White
* Jam
* Who Is It
* Bad (snippet)
* Ghosts / Blood On The Dance Floor

Surprised at how high This Is It is, but it is a very charming track and plus it was special in the sense that it was the first "new" track we got to hear after that awful event. It is a very pretty song.

Stranger In Moscow is epic, deserved so much better than #91 on the US chart.

OMG

This Is It?

One of the worst songs in MJ's career. EVER. Period. But if you like it because of personal reasons, ok.

And SIM is very low. Michael never confirmed the rumors about Sonic. I do not trust the people who worked with him and confirms things after 2009.

14. Beat It (1983)
Image
US: #1 / UK: #3

SHORT-FILM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym0hZG-zNOk

One of the best-selling singles of all time, and a fave of 9 out 10 fans. 'Beat It' was the first worldwide pop hit that used rock elements (it features a guitar performance by Eddie Van Halen), and I think it represents how MJ music could break any music genre barriers.

It's one of the 'Thriller Big 3', along 'Billie Jean' and 'Thriller'. And, as usual when it comes to Michael Jackson, its music video is simply... legendary!

>> 'Beat It' has won two Grammys: Record of the Year and Best Rock Vocal Performance, back in 1984.
13. Earth Song (1995)
Image
US: -- / UK: #1

SHORT-FILM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAi3VTSdTxU&ob=av3e

A truly anthem to environmentalism, and one of my favourite songs! I personally think it's MJ's best effort to promote socially conscious about our planet with music.

>> 'Earth Song' remains Michael Jackson's best-selling single in the United Kingdom, but wasn't released in United States!

>> Its music video (short-film) features images of Amazon Rainforest (Brazil), Karlovac (Croatia), Tanzania and New York.
