BBMA is not a "big" ceremony at all, just about 6-7 milion viewers in states.Timmy94 wrote:Adele's Someone Like You also reached No. 1 with only "1 "big" performance"...
And to be honest, I think it's climbing kinda slowly... I expected it to be in the top 10 shortly after that performance - I mean it's Katy Perry.
Don't know why some are so surprised about it...

But Thinking Of You also wasn't such a massive and high potential song, therefore it did OK respecting that. It's not like she couldn't sing ballads or rather mid-tempos and have success with them, they just have to be really good. For example if she had a Jar Of Hearts or a Someone Like You, it would be in the top 3 within minutesstarshine90 wrote:BBMA is not a "big" ceremony at all, just about 6-7 milion viewers in states.Timmy94 wrote:Adele's Someone Like You also reached No. 1 with only "1 "big" performance"...

Wide Awake is a ballad, and look at the peak and chartrun of Thinking Of You, that all why.
A big no no. Katy HAS NOT the vocal power to sing Jar Of Hearts or Someone Like You. It would flop.Timmy94 wrote:For example if she had a Jar Of Hearts or a Someone Like You, it would be in the top 3 within minutesstarshine90 wrote:BBMA is not a "big" ceremony at all, just about 6-7 milion viewers in states.Timmy94 wrote:Adele's Someone Like You also reached No. 1 with only "1 "big" performance"...

But you compare an apple with an birne (Timmy94 wrote:Rihanna is also no 2nd Whitney or Celine but still her Unfaithful became a hit and Russian Roulette also did well outside of the US...
I think his point it's that if it's a good ballad it has a chance to smash, and SLY/JOH probably came to his mind because they were the last 2 HUGE ballads.truthless wrote:But you compare an apple with an birne (Timmy94 wrote:Rihanna is also no 2nd Whitney or Celine but still her Unfaithful became a hit and Russian Roulette also did well outside of the US...)... RiRi sang Unfaithful good, even when her voice wasn't that good as now in the past. And please... Russian Roulette is epic^^.
I was talking about Someone Lik You and Jar Of Hearts. If they were really Katy songs... I don't know. I still think they wouldn't be hits.
