Poker Face got its merits, but c'mon, Rolling in the Deep is waaay better.

Gah this is far too hard!

Poker Face is much easier to listen to, even though it's been out for near 4 years now.. However, RITD is incredible!

SLY beats RITD though, all the frickin' way, as RITD was overshadowed in the UK by SLY.. I'd say SLY and Poker Face are on par for impact.

Poker Face is an iconic song, without a doubt. She'll never have another like it.

For those saying 21 is much better than TF/TFM.. I've listened to both albums a ridiculous amount of times, and I reckon you're just talking bollocks to start something.. They're nothing alike.. At all.

And for those saying it's the 'second Thriller' or whatever.. Lol.

IMO Poker Face is better song, I never really liked that much Rolling In The Deep. It's her weakest single!

I guess it's heavily influenced by downloads because most of these songs are from the last decade... no songs from the 90's or 80's?

^ We're talking about the 21st century here, I cut out all the entries from the 90s etc. And yes, longer chart runs are more common in the last 10 years, because of CD single deletions.

I would say "We Belong Together" by Mariah Carey. Let's see ... 14 weeks at #1 in the US, highest impression rate in a week, and the fact that it's just awesome. Sounds like a winner to me.

In my opinion, the song was more of a monster than "Rolling In The Deep" or "Poker Face". Both of those songs are lyrically and rhythmically inferior ...

The song is really amazing, however these 14 weeks atop were based on airplay almost solely.
And worldwide the song didn't have such an impact it had in the US.

Rihanna's "Umbrella" anyone?

I know sales-wise, it wasn't as huge as "Poker Face" and "Rolling In The Deep", but no doubt it's more popular than those twos, right?

Poker Face by far, it topped every possible chart in the world right ?
What if we choose to exist in a reality of our own making, does that render us insane, and if so, isn't that better than a life of despair?

IMO it has to be "Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira...
That song was a mega ultra HUGE hit in Latin America.... a massive hit in North America and Europe, a hit in Africa and Oceania... and a mild hit in Asia... No way ROLLING IN THE DEEP and POKER FACE were this huge in Africa / Latin America and Asia IMO...

"Hips Don't Lie" was indeed a huge ultra global hit single. It just crossed cultures and boundaries. This is Shakira's greatest edge among all females, she has the international crossover appeal that doesn't rely on current trends, critical acclaim or chart-based relevance.

This seems about right. Not in that particular order, but these 10 were all huge + I would maybe add Crazy in Love

Not sure about foregin countries but in France Umbrella is nowhere near as popular as Poker Face, Rolling In The Deep, Someone Like You, Hips Don't Lie, Hung Up or Whenever Wherever.

It's never been that huge here. Don't Stop The Music was way bigger.

We Belong Together

The song spent fourteen non-consecutive weeks at number one on both the US Billboard Hot 100—after making its debut at number 81—and on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.[31] It had major cross-over success, becoming the first song to simultaneously occupy the number one position on nine Billboard charts on the week ending August 6, 2005: the Hot 100, Billboard Hot 100 Airplay, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Pop 100 Airplay, Top 40 Mainstream, Rhythmic Airplay Chart, Hot Dance Club Songs, and the Hot Ringtones charts.[32] Spending fourteen weeks atop the Hot 100, "We Belong Together" became the second longest running number one song in US chart history, behind only Carey's 1995 collaboration with Boyz II Men, "One Sweet Day", which spent sixteen weeks at number one. Aside from its chart success, the song broke several airplay records, and according to Mediabase and Nielsen BDS, gathered both the largest one-day and one-week audiences in BDS history, reaching 32.8 million and 223 million impressions respectively.[33][34] To date, "We Belong Together" has been listened to more than 8 billion times in the United States alone.Additionally, the song held the top position on the official Hot 100 Airplay chart for sixteen weeks, tying for the second all time spot with No Doubt's "Don't Speak" (1996).[31] "We Belong Together" was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), denoting shipments of over one million copies throughout the United States.[36] On the Billboard Hot 100 Year-end Chart of 2005, the song was declared the number one song, a career first for Carey.[37] Billboard listed "We Belong Together" ninth on The Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs[38] and second on Top Billboard Hot 100 R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.[39] The song was also declared the most popular song of the 2000s decade by Billboard 8-)
