I'm sorry but the hippy hoppy stuff line really tripped me up?

I mean you no disrespect SCHoli but what in the world are you talking about?

youve just posted a clip of amgirl doing thousands of head whips and kicks. Britney was flexible which is impressive, her 'routines' however are largely similar. Shoulder shoulder, head whip, high kick, drop down , head whip up.

The largest thing against your argument in 'who's better' is that Britney had 4 Years of doing similar routines, whereas Janet has had over 25 years of doing a much more varied collection of moves and styles. I mean the length of time she has been dancing at her level should send alarm bells off in your head on who is 'better'.

Not only that but Janet has eclipsed decades at a high level from 80's, 90's and 00's. I don't know how old you are but look at the decades dance styles and recognise the massive difference in artists and their abilities.

Michael and Janet's advantage were they were true innovators, they were artists that showed brilliance in their artistry, concepts and visuals, but the likes of Usher, Mýa and yes, Britney are formally trained and are better technical dancers than them!

I'm a huge fan of Janet but I must admit that Mýa did a better job than her in "The Pleasure Principle" Icon tribute performance back in 2001. No one here is saying that Janet or Michael is less of a performer, but there are other artists that have more varied skills than them!

Also, Janet stepped her game up when the likes of Britney, Mýa, etc. came into existence. Just watch and compare the dancing in the "All for You" (very 1980s-inspired but still fresh) as compared to the technique in "All Nite" in 2004 where she exhibited more difficult dance moves and floor routines that can rival the likes of "Overprotected Darkchild Remix", "Case of the Ex", "Me Against the Music", etc. that were released prior to that Damita Jo single.

I wish she had given some of the songs to Janet...because to be honest, she could've really used them.

Janet would've been right in her element with songs like Lullaby, Boy (I Need You), There Goes My Heart and You Had Your Chance....
Ewwww No. Maybe You Had Your Chance. I don't think those songs could be made better by any artist.

I see what you're trying to say but let's get some perspective. Janet has been 'dancing' as had her brothers since what age? 5/6? They are a famous, family of superstars known for dancing, do you think they had no dance lessons as really that's all 'formal training' is, consistant dance lessons to strengthen technique. Just because she isn't tapping herself into the floor or throwing her legs round her head, she had the best choreographers training her day on day.

Do you really think someone of Janet's stature didn't have multiple dance lessons every week even from her early days with the Jacksons!?! 'Formal Training', check.

And to be honest, it speaks volumes that a 40 something woman is still as sharp and as brilliant in her dance after 25 years compared to a woman who danced well for 4 years and never reached that level again, even though she is still in her early 30's! Where has her 'formal training' gone...

No good reason to even try replying to some of the comments.
(usher a better technical dancer than MJ? :/)

All I say is, the only time britney came after Janet in dancing was 'me against the music', but then Janet was like "nah don't u even try girl" and came out with All nite :D.
It was soo good, britney ended up pretending she injured her leg permanently and hasn't danced since ;)

Ciara seems too masculine to me sometimes. Janet is more technical, but still lady.

Janet Jackson Producing Documentary About Transgender People

BY JEREMY KINSER

JUNE 04 2012 3:00 PM ET

Superstar entertainer Janet Jackson is set to executive-produce a documentary that will help "stop the hate and find understanding" toward transgender people.

The documentary is titled Truth and described as "a journey through the lives of trans- and nongendered people around the world and their epic struggle for equality." The film will be directed by Robert Jason and is expected to begin production this summer.

"All people are very important to me," Jackson says in a statement released to the media. "I've been fortunate to make friends and learn about very different lives. Truth is our small chance to ask that you try and understand someone who lives their life in a way that is a little bit different from yours, even though all of our hearts are the same. We want to stop the hate and find understanding."

Jason is obviously ecstatic to have such a high-profile collaborator on the project. "Janet Jackson will take us on a visually innovative, cerebral journey through the turbulent lives of transgendered people of all ages around the world and their epic struggle for equality," he says. "This film will highlight landmark mainstream stories and provide a glimpse at others that will change the gender landscape of the world forever. Just as it is hard to believe that there ever was a time when different components of society were required to use separate drinking fountains, it is as incredible that one's gender expression remains just such a target for discrimination."

I agree but she's just solidifying that base of people who may have forgotten about her in favour of Gaga and Madonna.

interesting idea, but I hope she will find enough time for music too ...
I dont know why, but I think the new album will be amazing, there were so many things in her life since Discipline that could inspire her :)

I think she knows that radio won't play her so she's taking her time with it as she got nothing to ''loose''. It's a crime that Discipline is her worst seller that album was great but atleast it gave her another number 1 album.

The thing is, she is still at top form, I mean, there's still a chance that she can get a hit era in today's standards and with the current type of music we have which is dance, and if she sells less than 250,000 copies in the US, it will really hurt her. We all know that she is one of the first African-American female superstars (who have crossed decades with hit albums and singles) so there will still be expectations. It's really hard to accept but I think the next album will really determine if she can ignite interest again or you know, we all know the opposite of that.

It's true but knowing she's not getting any younger it will be much more difficult.

500,000 copies sold in the US would be acceptable for her next album. Anything above that would exceed expectations.
