Teri/Susan: 47
Eva/Gabby: 37
Marcia/Bree: 50
Felicity/Lynette: 49

It always startles me, to look at their real ages. It makes me sad because I want them to be on TV forever.
 will they ever carry a new show on solely their shoulders? I doubt that

I loved the Lynette/pedophile story, it was one of my favorite parts of S3, especially the episode when she discovers his basement, that scene was so scary ,I think it was in the Christmas episode, also later on when the whole town attacks his house and of course their final scene when he basically admits it to Lynette. Sends chills down my spine just thinking about it. This story was very good cause not until last moment you can be sure who's right, was he really a pedophile or not, did Lynette blow things out of proportion but then that last scene before he goes pretty much clears it up.

when the show started, Eva was still a baby.. and the other girls were pretty young as well. I mean a little bit over 40 is no age anymore. But it looks unreal now.. 50.. c'mon.

I think Marcia definitely comes across as being the eldest.

The paedophile storyline was so good. Mainly because it wasn't over-sensationalised and managed to stay really creepy.

I think all of the main actors could probably carry a show by themselves.

The one who would find it the hardest is probably Teri - mainly because she has the biggest stigma attatched to her with her being billed as the lead here, plus her being Lois Lane.

I can see Eva doing some standard rom-com movies.

Felicity would be great leading a cable TV show centred around her character (like The Big C, United States Of Tara, Enlightened etc.).

Not sure what Marcia would do though.

I still think Marcia is the most talented one from the girls even though Felicity is one of the most outstanding television actresses (and with an oscar nomination also one with the highest acclaim).

^^^ It's a shame Marcia didn't win any big awards for her role.

TV is far kinder to aging actresses than the movie industry is.

Sally Field, Glenn Close, Jessica Lange all come to mind over 60, long past their Hollywood stardom days yet have done very well on TV.

It's funny how they play sexy Latin music in Gabby's scenes in the pilot episode

How did I not notice Lynette only bumped into Natalie at the supermarket in the pilot and finale? Nice touch.

It's been one week since it all ended. I think I'll be just fine without it to be honest. I only ever re-watch the first few seasons anyway (meaning I miss those seasons, but I don't think I'll miss what the show became).

I felt so weird waking up this morning and not having an episode of DH to watch.

Starting from this Sunday, I'm going to watch DH from the very beginning again. An episode every Sunday (or maybe multiple episodes per Sunday).

So you'll finish the show by about Christmas 2014? :P

Is it wrong that I downloaded Wonderful! Wonderful! from itunes? Loved the song.

Yes, so if the world ends this year I'll be screwed. And of course not, it's beautiful!

But everytime I hear it now, I think of Karen dying.

Well, whenever you're too happy and you need something to sober you up, you've got that. :)

This is a nice video made by a bunch of fans.

 Watching it made me realize again it's over and how much I'll miss them. I think I need some time to pass before I start watching reruns again, it's too soon....

They use the DH soundtrack which reminded me how important their music was in emotional scenes. It's so powerful and touching.

In some very sad, life-imitating-art news, Kathryn Joosten died yesterday from cancer.

Emmy winner Kathryn Joosten, whose emotional death scene as Karen McKluskey gave Desperate Housewives‘ recent series finale its biggest emotional punch, died yesterday of lung cancer in Westlake Village, CA. She was 72.

Joosten won her Emmys in 2005 and 2008 in the Oustanding Guest Actress in a Comedy for her portrayal of Wisteria Lane’s crankiest (but still loveable) resident.

Prior to her Housewives success, Joosten was best known for playing Mrs. Landingham, secretary to Martin Sheen’s President Bartlet, on The West Wing.

She also had roles on such shows as Scrubs, My Name Is Earl, Joan of Arcadia, and Dharma & Greg.

Joosten, who didn’t begin her acting career until she was 42, famously told interviewers through the years that Housewives‘ creator Marc Cherry had promised never to kill off Mrs. McCluskey, seeing how many of her prior characters hadn’t survived to their shows’ series finales.

According to her rep, Joosten was surrounded by family at the time of her death.
So dreadfully sad. RIP Kathryn

Shocking! Especially because of what happened in the final episode. It's going to be especially strange for people who haven't seen the finale yet.
