Alexandra Burke's new single 'Let It Go' has flopped in the charts after receiving no radio support from key broadcasters.
Neither Radio 1 nor the Global Radio Group - who own Capital FM amongst other influential stations - opted to playlist the new single from the X Factor champion.
The song charted at No. 23 in the midweek charts last Wednesday, but had slipped to No. 28 by Friday. In today's final listings, it is a disappointing No. 33.
It's a far cry from the No. 1 heights achieved by her previous hits 'Hallelujah', 'Bad Boys' and 'Start Without You'. Her previous lowest-charting effort was 'The Silence', which only managed a peak of No. 16 after being available for a whole year as an album track.
Alexandra's second album Heartbreak On Hold is released tomorrow (June 4), and the star will no doubt have everything crossed that its performance saves her from being dropped by her record label.
Earlier today we reported that she said of the 'Let It Go' radio snub: "Obviously it's disappointing. But what can I do? The main thing for me is I'm proud of my music and the fans all love what I'm doing."
She optimisitcally posted on Twitter this afternoon: "Everyday I feel like I'm getting just that little bit stronger... It may only be a little, but its a lot to mex (sic)"
That's the spirit, Alex!
