Am I the only one who finds Whistle's run ridiculous? Really don't get the appeal.

As expected John Mayer enters at #1 with Born And Raised. Despite a string of successful albums and ten years of career, John's never had a chart topping LP Down Under, so it's a first for him. Congratulations Mr Mayer! Keith Urban and One Direction move back up 2 spots to #2 and #3. The Temper Trap fall from the pinnacle to #4. Florence + The Machine and Ed Sheeran are up 3 thanks to their current Top 10 hits. The Ultimate Bee Gees is up 6 to #7. Slash is down 6 to #8. Regina Spektor scores her highest placing in Oz with her new album. She's in at #9, beating the #10 peak of Far. Adele suffers a big drop, down 7 to #10. This is 21's lowest placing since April 2011. Nevertheless, news aren't all bad for the songstress. 21 now has the longest consecutive run in the ARIA Top 10, tied with P!nk's I'm Not Dead, which also spent 62 straight weeks in the Top 10.
Julia Stone just misses out on a Top 10 birth with her second solo effort, coming at #11. Sigur Ros's sixth album enters at #14, followed by the 2012 Eurovision compilation one spot below. Ladyhawke's second LP lands at #17, one place lower than the peak of her self-titled debut. In the midst of all these entries, Coldplay are up 5 to #16.
The Bee Gees' Number Ones make their first appearence in the Top 50, at #23. The Voice compilation enters at a surprisingly low #26 spot. Scissor Sisters enter at #27. Magic Hour becomes the band's first album to miss the Top 10 in Australia.
There are spectacular drops for Glee (down 18) and Adam Lambert (down...28). We have a couple of entries from country act O'Shea at #39 and Jazz songstress Melody Gardot at #43. Boy & Bear's Moonfire re-emerges at #48. The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac is also back in the game at #49. No doubt that a discount in JB HiFi stores and a performance of Landslide on The Voice have helped.
Next week: Missy Higgins will be #1. Alan Jackson, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Buried In Verona and The Bamboos will all enter the Top 40. It'll be interesting to see if Adele can beat P!nk's record for the longest consecutive run in the Top 10. Another record to watch is The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac. If it can spend another week in the chart (highly likely), that will mark the album's 300th week in the Top 100.
