FOLLOW THE COUNTDOWN HERE!

........................¬ UKMIX TOP 100 BANDS/GROUPS/DUOS ¬........................

I counted down the top 100 males, the top 100 females, and its now time for the UKMix community to choose their top 100 bands/groups/duos! 8-) You should expect to see some of the big names in music - Queen, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, U2, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd & the Supremes. But will this countdown throw up any surprises...will M People - lead by the Heather Small massive here at UKMix - pull out an upset and leave the aforementioned legends in her path?

This is the voting thread

........ALL VOTES MUST BE SENT TO ME VIA PRIVATE
........MESSAGE BY SATURDAY 14TH JULY 2012

........* IMPORTANT *

You MUST use the voting form below to rank your acts - if you don't, I won't count them. Its as simple as that 8-)

Here are the rules. Read them closely:

¬ The minimum you can vote for is 20, the maximum you can vote for is 50 - I will not accept any lists with 19 or fewer votes - your list must include between 20 & 50 different acts

¬ Instrumental duos or groups are allowed; orchestras are also allowed - any act in music that has released one album or one single as a minimum, that consists of 2 or more members, is eligible to be voted for

¬ Your #1 ranked act will receive 50 points, regardless of whether you send a 50 act list, and your #20 act will receive 31 points, and your #50 act will receive 1 point. Please aim to send a top 50 if you can though

¬ An act is eligible providing they have released at least one studio album or single

¬ There will be no nominations round - you can send me straight away your votes, providing they meet the above criteria

Would Florence and the Machine count? I know she was counted as a female soloist in the female countdown so I wasn't sure :-?

And what about The Patti Smith Group and Marylin Manson?

Bob Marley and the Wailers, the Jimi Hendrix Experience count so I don't see why Patti Smith Group shouldn't - its a group by its own definition!

Marilyn Manson I can't really reject as they had a fairly substantial group career, so yes they count.

This is also an opportunity to vote for Sade.

Voted

I've been really honest with this one. When I voted in the female countdown I put a lot of acts up much higher than they should have been just because they were considered 'legends'. With this one I've just put who I love the most, regardless of their status among society :D

Lemo, sorry to be a pain - but you need to re-send your votes using the format above, otherwise I won't accept them!

The compiling of these results is tough enough, using the format above makes my job that little bit more accurate, and easier.

Yes, providing they've at least one full length album where they've recorded together on each song.

I'm going to change the criteria to AT LEAST ONE ALBUM and not one single also.

Okay, so I guess they do then as they did Watch The Throne together. Thanks.
Sent my votes. :D
