I'm so behind!!

"Never Too Late" is waaaay too high :lol:
"All The Lovers" is sublime.

You have quite a few tracks outside of your top 10 that I would put in mine, interested to see what'll come up.

What Do I Have To Do: 8/10 - Admittedly, I like this a tad less than when Paul introduced me to it last summer but it's still fun, catchy, mindless Pop that Kylie delivers well.

Better Than Today: 6/10 - If I remember correctly, I sorta loathed this one when Paul introduced me to it last year. Now I don't so yay for that! :lol: It's still not fantastic though.

Get Outta My Way: 7.5/10 - Am I the only one who detects shade in the line, You can take a seat, do what you normally do? I really like this one. :)

Never Too Late: 6/10 - Definitely the weakest of the batch but still not terrible.

All The Lovers: 9.5/10 - Epic. That is all.

Nice to hear that, thank you! :D I hope you pop in for the rest of the countdown as well!
Benny wrote:#11 GET OUTTA MY WAY
Good song and great video, should have been a bigger success :-?

#15 I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY
Nice but a little bit overrated

#17 CONFIDE IN ME
Great song, very underrated!

#19 BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
Love it, one of her best 8-)
Great to see you like them! I totally agree on 'Get Outta My Way', it's one of her finest songs in recent years!
phoenix98 wrote:"Never Too Late" = whaaaaat? I love this one too, it made my Top 50, but I didn't realize you love it QUITE so much! I'd say it's the best Enjoy Yourself single, though "Tears On My Pillow" is a not-too-distant second for me. I never knew Michael Hutchence was such a fan! I think I remember reading somewhere that he liked "Better The Devil You Know" too, but I could be wrong about that.

"All The Lovers" = I really love this one too, but I still feel like calling it one of her "artistic peaks" might be a BIT too generous :lol: it was certainly a welcome return to form for a lead single after the much-too-rocky-for-my-tastes "2 Hearts".
Haha, one can never be too generous when it's 'All the Lovers'. 8-) I can't decide from your post whether you approve of NTL's chart position or not, but I hope you do, 'cause it's another underappreciated gem! :( I didn't realize its greatness until I imported it into my iTunes quite a while ago - before that, I only had it on vinyl and as 'Enjoy Yourself' is not really my favourite album from Kylie, I didn't bother with getting a digital/CD copy, which means I didn't play 'Never Too Late' either, I just knew how the song went and that is all. Now that it's in my iTunes, I could finally give it the treatment it deserved, plus it really describes a situation I've been in for more than a year now and I still think it's never too late, we've still got time! :)

Guurl I almost to placed it even higher! :lol: Well seriously, I can see why it doesn't appeal that much for some, but I just can't help loving it and you guys are gonna have to deal with it. 8-) :lol: 'All the Lovers' really is majestic!

Ooh I'm glad to see that you like most of them! :D I thought you'd like 'Never Too Late', though! Ah nevermind, I realized I might have to hide away with one copy of 'Better Than Today' and 'Never Too Late' each and appreciate them alone.. :( :lol:

ha, sorry, I guess I was a bit unclear there! I do love the song, but I think you've got it much too high - it was No. 47 on my list. ;)

I didn't realize you were a vinyl collector, though! I've heard that nothing can compare to the experience of listening to music on an actual record, but I haven't had a record player since I was a kid (well, it was my parent's, of course). do you still listen to records regularly?

Oh, well, I could feel that you would say that. :lol: I don't really collect vinyls by the way, I do have some in my collection but I prefer CDs. :) Playing a record really has its magic but my record player is quite old now (it's from my Dad's childhood) which means it doesn't sound perfect and because of that I usually choose to listen to those albums on my computer/CD player instead. I'm planning to get a new record player though, because I love 7" singles and picture discs. :)

Here's the newest update! :)

:: 2 HEARTS ::
UK Peak: 4 | AUS Peak: 1
'2 Hearts' is definitely one of the most dividing songs Kylie has ever released, there are many people who call it atrocious, while others say it's an amazing comeback single. Either way, it's arguably a song that no one expected Kylie to do. For me, it's the song that made me a Kylie megafan. Before that, I simply liked her songs and videos but wasn't interested in her discography. When I saw the premiere of the '2 Hearts' video on TV, I was hooked, it is such a powerful tune and Kylie looked like a heroine in the music video. It was so good to see her back in form. And thus it remains one of my favourite singles from her. Did you know? Fans could win pieces of the confetti from the music video in a Kylie competition!

:: IN YOUR EYES ::
UK Peak: 3 | AUS Peak: 1
I admit I really underappreciated 'In Your Eyes' in recent times, even though it was one of my favourite songs when I was a child. I totally forgot about it, mainly because of the mediocre 'In Your Eyes' performances she did on her tours (like on her X2008 show). However, I saw the music video on TV quite a few months ago and seeing it on the TV screen made me feel the love for it that I felt as a child again, it was like stepping back in time. After re-listening her many singles for this countdown, I realised that including 'In Your Eyes' in the Top 10 is inevitable.

"2 Hearts" = you're certainly right about some fans thinking it's atrocious ;) well..."atrocious" might be a bit harsh, but it was not at ALL the comeback single I was hoping for, and it still hasn't grown on me the way "Slow" did. I'm not totally against her experimenting with a sound like "2 Hearts", but it was a crazy choice for the lead single from an album filled with songs that sound nothing like it! I probably wouldn't be as bothered by it if it was just left as an X album track.

"In Your Eyes" = this made my Top 50, but towards the very bottom of the list. I really think this stands out as the weakest of the four Fever singles, and I think there's several Fever album tracks better than it too. it's certainly not bad, but there's some very stiff competition on that epic album.

"2 Hearts" gets slated so much but I love it, although it did take a good few weeks to grow on me at the time. It was just so unexpected from her to come back with something that was very different from the last few albums.

"In Your Eyes" I obviously like but it's always been mid-range Kylie for me, I think the chorus lets it down a little bit. My least favourite single from the album.

Thanks for your replies again, guys! I'm glad you didn't kill me for placing '2 Hearts' in the Top 10 lol! 8-) We're entering the Top 5 tonight (with #6 and #5), but before we do, I thought I'd post three songs that narrowly, but missed the Top 25, unfortunately. :(

I'm not too fussed about "GBI" or "In Your Arms" (although I do like them both), but it's pretty shocking and sad to see that "Love At First Sight" didn't make the cut! that one's certainly Top 10-worthy for me. <3

Believe me it was extremely difficult to leave these out, but they would surely make the Top 30, no doubt about that. There's more to come from 'Fever', though! The update is coming in a minute! :wink:

Here comes #6 and #5!

#6

:: FINER FEELINGS ::
UK Peak: 11 | AUS Peak: 60
Ah, 'Finer Feelings'! The last single from 'Let's Get To It' narrowly misses the Top 5. I'd say it's her most mature tune from her early years, and also one of her best PWL singles, it was definitely a taste of the change that was coming in her career at the time. I need to add though, that the single version, like in the case of 'Shocked', is far more superior to the album version. The Abbey Road version of the song, which was a Kylie surprise in January, shows the true power of this song, it's also worth checking out.

:: BREATHE ::
UK Peak: 14 | AUS Peak: 23
'Breathe' is a Kylie song that, for me, (along with the rest of the Top 5) would be very difficult to top. This chilling, yet powerful song works like magic - once it hits your ears it doesn't want to leave your head, plus it sends a very optimistic message. Its single version is (again) better than the album version in my opinion. 'Breathe, it won't be long now, breathe...'

'La la la...' I don't think there's anyone in this world who doesn't know this song! Even though it's not Kylie's best song ever (in my opinion), it's definitely the tune most people associate Kylie with, and there's no doubt it was the peak of her career. I wonder if she'll ever top this or reach the same level of success. I think there's no need to describe the track - it's simply one of the best pop songs of the 21st century!

Whoa! I've definitely got a bit of catching up to do so let me get started. :)

2 Hearts: 6.5/10 - Not a bad song. The chorus is pretty lovely but I'm not a big fan of Kylie's voice on this track.

In Your Eyes: 7/10 - Another gorgeous chorus here but the verses are definitely a bit underwhelming. It sounds like a grower though so maybe I'll like it more a year from now. :lol:

Finer Feelings: 7/10 - Kylie's songs really have fantastic choruses! I love the lyric, But what is love without the finer feelings, it's just sex without the sexual healing. Brilliant!

Breathe: 5.5/10 - Hmm...This one didn't really have much of a climax so it was sorta boring. :oops:

Can't Get You Out of My Head: 8/10 - I absolutely loathed this song for some time but it's just grown on me so much these past few weeks! It's those blasted La, la la's! :lol:

"Finer Feelings" = when you say the "single version", that's the "Brothers In Rhythm 7" Mix", right? I'm actually not sure which version I prefer, probably because I've never really cared much for either one :lol: this was her biggest flop in Australia until "Get Outta My Way", right? as Akini mentioned, this song does have some good lines, though. the Parisian video is quite lovely too.

"Breathe" = now with this one, I KNOW I prefer the album version to the single version! I really think the...how can I put this...hypnotic atmosphere of the song is spoiled in the sped-up single version. No. 5 is a bit too generous, but this did make my Top 40.

"Can't Get You Out Of My Head" = although I do think this song is a bit over-rated and wrongfully overshadows better moments in Kylie's discography, there's no doubt that it's incredibly catchy and I'm thankful for the massive success it brought her. <3

"Finer Feelings" and "Breathe" are both nice sensual songs but I'd have them nowhere near that high! That side of her has never been my favourite.

"CGYOOMH" = 11/10

@GoodBoyGoneBad: Yes it does, and it's so relaxed it always calms me down when something bad/annoying happens! :D

@JSparksFan: Oh, sad to see 'Breathe' hasn't won you over! :( I'm glad you quite like the rest, though!

@phoenix98: Yes, it's the BIR 7" Mix. :) Haha, I knew you wouldn't be too impressed! And yes, it was her biggest flop until 'Get Outta My Way' arrived (I still can't get over that...).

@Thriller: I can definitely see why they don't appeal to some, but I'm glad you love 'Can't Get You...'! 8-)

The update is coming in a minute! :)
