Carrie has just basically voiced her support for gay marriage and perhaps as a result she had a pretty nice Hot AC gain today and some sales boosts! :P

Much congrats to Carrie on those two awards and woohoo for her advocating for gay marriage! I am a happy Care Bear. :)

Definitely. And I think she actually has a good few songs which should appeal to the mainstream gay audience such as "Before He Cheats", "Last Name", "The More Boys I Meet", "Cowboy Casanova", "Undo It" and "Good Girl".

I'm gay. Some of my gay friends like her quite alot too (in belgium). When glee covered her song of last name, some other glee fans over here downloaded the original song too and loved it. Well as far I know gay people and if that's a reference. I'm not really into the gay community. Like half or something lol. But that's not the point. I think she could truly have some succes over here, but the problem is just that europe is not a good market for country songs. I do think she has a gay fan base in the other markets she goes... It's not that country country sound you know. It has those elements of pop and attitude. Her gay fan base is just not as explicit there like with madonna or mariah. And it doesn't have to be.

I'm happy that she is going to perform in Uk. And she added australia with her previous release (play on). She is expanding her release radius carefully. Maybe too slow... I think she could have a huge crossover hit in other markets with before he cheats and also other songs. But her company doesn't want to take the risk, that's clear. I'm a huge fan of her, really huge (just check my last fm :p)... And I'm a typically raised belgian boy. So others could fall for it too...

If the dixie chicks could do it than she can do it too. It's another market though but still... She should try :) + I wanna have a chance to see her live. I can't go to her UK concert because I have my exames, otherwise I would go... but hey antother time I guess...

Ps. I miss the dixie chicks

I'm gay as well and I actually listened to her 7 times more than you :D And I'm from Hong Kong.

I think her country sound should be able to smash because it's actually very Pop-rock, with some songs being fairly acoustic-like. It's not the typical country sound which doesn't see much mainstream even in the US to begin with!

A fan/stan is a fan/stan no bigger or smaller I suppose, well, I mean those 'fans' who boycott her after she went out to support love are probably fake ones, not just 'smaller' fans.

"Blown Away" is starting on Country radio! It has at least 27 spins now!

I just rezlise "Mama's Song" is actually Gold already!

It won't be soon before long for "Blown Away" the single to be Gold either, considering it's already quickly approaching 300k copies in sales without any airplay.

According to HDD, Blown Away is out of the top 10 (10-15), so they need to finally release Blown Away (single) to make the album return to the top 5!

yes. I believe they realize the success BA single can reach! it's potential to chart very high on Pop Songs, so she should promote it appropriately and release the video smartly 8-)

Maybe No. 13-15 at the end of the week?
This would be a huge development to Play On which peaked at No. 93 (Carrie's first album to reach the top 100)...

I think top 20 is guaranteed! Let's hope for top 15. Her concert is tomorrow. I'm so sad I can't go :(

OT: To be perfect, the chart needed to be Cheryl at #1
