She entered even lower, only #85 :o
My first estimation actually was No. 80-90 but I thought she wouldn't be THAT low and raised my guess to No. 60-80... So I was right at first  .

I was right overall but I'm surprised that some albums debut lower though... Last year we saw many albums which reached surprisingly high positions and a lot of changes at the top (even some which are usually not typical No.-1-material like Guano Apes' or In Flames' albums), while this year it seems to be more stable, when it comes to this. Someone knows about it?

So basically almost every song that reaches the top 10 is certified at least Gold nowadays... :)

So if that's the case, I think they should raise the certification standards again. 250k for Gold and 500k for Platinum is reachable but points out really successful songs better, plus they once had it like that in the 90s when single sales were high.

No. In the US, Australia and a lot of other countries several songs reach 5 or even 6x times platinum every year.
In Germany maybe one song makes it to the 2x platinum mark and that's it. 2x platinum for the hit of the year sounds realistic and deserved IMO.

OK, you might be right... But the BVMI should still have an eye on it and follow the development.
Important is that reaching Gold or Platinum keep the same meaning: In Australia or the US, Gold for singles means nothing anymore and even flops can reach Platinum... When a single reached Gold in the 90s, in the 00s or now, this should mean the same type of success, so when general sales are higher, it also requires higher sales for reaching Gold...

On the other hand, the certification levels were already lowered when album sales weren't declining at all in 1999. Seems like they prefer to get more certifications to get better publicity.

.

Concerning the new chart rules: Only one download song is missing in this week's chart (Bruno Mars - Count On Me).

I know that the charts are not posted here yet, but you can see results of the new rules in the Top 100.

72 Neu Cro - Hi Kids
85 Neu Kid Cudi Feat. Mgmt & Ratatat - Pursuit Of Happiness (Nightmare)
91 Neu Avicii - Silhouettes

The songs would have charted for some weeks, but they entered now.

BUT there are also songs (like "Count On Me" by Bruno Mars) that are still not listed..

Yeah, I agree. If things get [i]too[i] ridiculous like in Australia, I could agree with the levels being hightened, but Germany clearly isn't there yet. In fact, I like the way it is now! France, for example, I think is too high and strict, barely any song gets a cert there.

PLUS, in Germany, you never get actual sales, so the certifications are our only way of having an indication! If the marks were really high we'd barely know how much songs sold.

Digital sales in France are horrid. I still don't understand how a #1 there can only average 8-15,000 a week. :-?

^ I know right? In many countries single sales are now higher than they ever were during the physical era (US, Australia, and it seems UK might follow suit), and in other countries there was a drop but they seem to be recovering to some extent (Germany), and then there's France, which just shrunk to a shell of its former self. The Netherlands as well, by the way, our certifications are by comparison even lower than the ones in France and we have just as few songs actually reach the mark in a year.

Anyway, this is all OT, sorry for that ^^"

And in some countries, real singles sales are close to zero. In scandinavia, streaming is over 90 % of the single market. But even before that, itunes sales never really took of

Wonder how far Oceana will go with "Endless Summer". And to think that "Cry Cry" wasn't a big hit in Germany despite being popular in a number of European countries!
