I read many expectations for Usher's album to debut with 300k+ and I think Maroon 5's current popularity is bigger than Usher's in the US atm...
Two hit songs =/= popularity. It depends on fanbase, and Usher has the larger fanbase!

Considering Hands all Over debuted with 140k in 2010, I think saying the new album might do 200k is a good prediction.

Yes, Payphone is a hit. But it's also rather poppy and we all know that a pop hit definitely need not translate into an overabundance of extra sales.

They will have good longevity, I'm not sure about first week sales. Remember that they also have a lottt of pre orders, that album been optional for that for like a month? I think around 200K as well. Hopefully closer to 220K. They need more promotion.

Looking at Usher's predictions, I'm sure that my first estimation for Overexposed was way too high now.
So I'd say 150-200k, but this also just if the 2nd single turns out to be huge, otherwise I'd go with 100-150k, that seems to be good today  .

Even more than the opening number, it's the chart performance as a whole that matters. So if an album debuts high but drops relatively huge and maybe, if, stabilizes in the lower part of the chart, it doesn't go nowhere. While when Overexposed "only" debuts with ~ 150k but stabilizes at 30-40k and sells that for some months, no one would complain  .

5. Payphone Cover by Precise Tunes

Silly label will ruin this song before it's even released why have they waited so long to release it !!

People are buying this thinking it's the real thing!

I don't want to overestimate, but 250-350k sounds reasonable to me.

You know "Moves Like Jagger" really helped them gaining their popularity back, plus seems like Adam is getting more popular day by day.

I think people that make any predictions of over 250k will be sorely disappointed. Not meant personally, but it's MUCH easier to score a hit than it is to shift albums, especially in the US! I wouldn't be surprised if all MLJ did for them in the long run was make sure this album won't drop even more from HAO, as was the trend for them.

The Precision Tunes version of Payphone climbs from #83 to #9 on this week's UK singles chart accompanied by sales of 34,492 copies. It reached as high as #3 on UK iTunes on Saturday.

With Maroon 5's version out now, it's down to #23 on iTunes at the moment, with the boys' version at #1 (with Wiz) and #16 (without Wiz) and has a 65% lead on Flo Rida's Whistle and Cheryl's Call My Name. :o Big sales next Sunday!

Overexposed is released in Japan this week, together with Bieber's Believe and Living Things by Linkin Park.

The album is currently #1 (Deluxe) and #2 (Standard) on Japanese iTunes, above the other two (and Usher).

Funnily enough, Maroon 5 and Linkin Park also squared off against each other in Japan in 2010. A Thousand Suns opened with 51k approximately, whilst Hands All Over did 29k.
