Call My Name is set to become Cheryl’s third UK number one single this weekend as it rapidly heads towards 100,000 sales as one of the fastest sellers this year.

The newly-issued Polydor track had shifted nearly 97,000 copies up to the end of business on Tuesday, according to the Official Charts Company, more than double that of closest challenger Whistle by Atlantic-signed Flo Rida.

Cole has previously topped the UK singles chart with Fight For This Love in 2009 and Promise This the following year and Call My Name is virtually guaranteed to follow suit.

What da... :o :o

It's maybe because Cheryl Cole is hotter and more interesting as a female overall???? I love Alexandra, but I can see how people would give an EYE to get something from Cheryl, she's just got that X FACTOR that no one in the UK has... I had a friend of mine who hates her, he's from London, but the media has some sort of fascination with all things Cheryl day by day ...

  and Cheryl has a lot of personality? She's as boring as Leona.

Media was/is obsessed with Cheryl cause she was a football wag/pop star plus her XF exposure plus drama around her disease and Simon feude, not cause of her intriguingly interesting personality or non existing charisma.

BTW I love Cheryl and her music for all the superficial reasons so this is not hatin' 8-)

Don't you think that being part of one of the UK's biggest (and longest-serving) girl groups assists such popularity?

I find it incredible that people tend to overlook that minor detail.

Yes, of course, I was gonna write that but since I didn't follow her than I wasn't sure if media was so obsessed with her back then.

She's what Posh Spice used to be in late 90s early 00s.

Posh Spice was never that successful. Never had such big sales as Cheryl.

Call My Name is definitely a smash hit. 8-)

I think this song has the potential to become a hit even in the U.S., a moderate hit at least...! Too bad she won't even try to conquer the U.S. market this time around...

IMO less than 100,000 will be quite disappointing!

Justin Bieber must be #1... He's up to #1 on iTunes now and he's higher than Cheryl on Amazon as well.
