I have a feeling after visiting Germany and doing a semester abroad there, TUTR might do better there.

I don't understand this strategy.

Masterpiece SHOULD have been sent to European radio to fill the void between GGW and TUTR.

France is the second market with 80k+
Italy the third market only because it flopped in Germany (and I'm not happy about that)

Not even Adele has sold that amount this year in Italy and she's got so far the best selling album this year (21) in Italy with 120k+ copies (with last year's sales 21 has amassed some 340k+) , second being local Tiziano Ferro with 105k+ (300k+total) for this year's sales(both as of May).
So are you saying that MDNA has to sell more than Adele's huge numbers to be considered a non-underperformer?, it's unrealistic to say the least .
We all know the record biz has diminished tremendously from 08'. I don't think it's fair to compare those two Madonna albums at all.

I only compare Mdna whit madonna's last album HC.
Sales dropped down generally in four years but honestly not so much, not -50%. Anyway have a look to the chartrun of Hard Candy and you'll notice that it was all the first 21 weeks into the top 10. MDNA was out only after 8 weeks. This is my concept of underperforming.

You never mentioned chart performance, only sales on your original post.
The point was very clear, not even the best selling album worldwide right (21) now (and in Italy) was -so far- to be able to make the numbers that HC made back in 08-09' and we know HC was not even a huge seller back then.
If you wanted to compare HC and MDNA's chart runs you could have just said so and not compare their sales only.

In Italy Hard Candy is certified 2xP, that means 120K, maybe 140K in 2008. If it reached 200K it would be 3xP I suppose.

It's too early to make a comparison and to say that MDNA is underperforming, especially in Italy where it's still doing fine. Ok, it went out of the top10 before HC, but if it stays more weeks in the top 20, the game is more or less the same.
