The facts are we know she's working on an album that will be released either this year or the next. And that something is going to happen (most likely a single) in a few weeks. All Mariah has ever said is that news is coming soon there’s nothing confusing about that. Soon is nearly here.

True, but if you are from the magnitude of a star like mariah you know that such things happen when you announce stuff like this. You can tease but you can also tease to a level that you will leave alot of people disappointed. I'm not saying she will but the chances are bigger when you do it this way... Maybe she began too soon?

If you use the strategy to be concrete, the fans know where they stand. If you use mariah's strategy you know that you will get alot of excited fans and alot of gossip. That's always the way it goes. It's a smart strategy, but also risky. Risky because you can heat up people that much that there's only one way left: being disappointed.

It's not about who's fault it is. It's clear that it is the fault of fans who come up with rumors, but it's also the '''fault''' of mariah. Simply because this is the way she wants to do it. For example: 'So.. Summer 2012.. Been in the lab, mixing up some concoctions for you, hope you like it!! #MCSummer2012' = This is a sentence to leave people purposeful in the dark and confused. I'm okay with that but denying that is not risky and that the reaction on this is only the responsability of the fans is a bit too simplistic.

No, I don't expect fans to react in the same way but it's like I'm seeing some fans getting worked up over nothing. And the funny thing is they are doing it to themselves. Some have become so crazed that they have resorted to making up lies and posting them as inside info smh.

i dont agree with a "buzz single", that's what they tried to say Obsessed was at one point. (and we know how that era turned out).

She needs to have a game plan and be confident in her first single choice that it can launch the era.

If she worked with: Rodney Jerkins, Walter A, and JD I'd be confident with whatever the album sounded like.

I really want her to take ALL the time she needs with this album, which I think is one of the most decisive ones !

A release in October or a release in March 2013 can make a huge difference in the quality. The more songs they record, the more choice they will have to pick the ones that will make the final cut.

If this thing with Walter A is real, it's a dream come true for me really... I mean comon, even if it is just for the nostaliga it will be 100 % worth it!

I feel Mariah (and her team) just want to capitalize on the hype and anticipation surrounding her comeback.
If they wait too long (i.e. next year), people will lose interest.

Also, the charts are fairly quiet at the moment. Not much competition from other divas.
