So now they're trying to turn her into Emeli Sandé. I wish they'd stop trying to throw her on to every possible bandwagon and just release something with a bit of uniqueness about it. They're terrified of failure with her because she's still the poster girl for The X Factor and it's kinda like if Leona finally flops, the whole franchise has. With a voice like her's though she should be putting it to better use than she has been... give us the next "Bleeding Love"!

I agree

I hope her single will come out in August/September, but Goooshhh without a that late release... it's just stupid, that UK artists still release singles 2 months after the vid, just because they're watin on ''radio support''... 3-4 weeks are ok, but releasing the single, while they're already announcing the 2nd? :o

IMO, "Collide" was an excelent song and it was a move in the right direction, it suited Leona gracefully! It's not like she was pulling a "Party Rock Anthem" meets "On The Floor" though... it was just a sweet melody... maybe all the Avicii controversy made it go down in the charts and flop, I don't know... but clearly, people didnt want Ballads either... look at "Echo" + "Happy" and how abysmal they did on the charts!

I agree, by the looks of it, it will be basically a whole new album anyways.

While on home turf in Hackney today omg! witnessed the singer share her experiences in the music industry and also opened up about why we've not heard (or seen) much of her of late.

She said: "It's hard writing an album, it takes a while, you can't rush it out — so you're away for a bit. My album will be out at the end of the summer.

"I've had to be strong and courageous in what you want. Simon Cowell knew I was an artist not just a singer who'd sing any song.

"And now I have full creative control from the promotion, photo shoots and the video — it's taken a while to get but I've got it now."
This was part of the interview at R1.

She also said that she has something planned for Hackney Weekend. I am guessing that it is a new single.

I love the title ''Dark Love City Streets'', I think that's the song ''Gangster Killer'', that her record label forbid to release... but looks like she has everythin in her hands now....ahaa

glad that she is co-writing all of her songs :)

What worries me is that she did not mention the most important things.
Full creative control of song selections and final tracklist.

Oh well, I am glad that she's back to the drawing board!!!
She needs to stick to her ballady self! That's why we loved her initially!!! 8-)

Leona needs an R&B album. She already did pop on the first two albums and some electronic along the way. An R&B/Urban sound would be SO different from her which is what everyone wants.

:(
Of course not, i think Alexandra Burke's new album is the Bionic situation

Fraser T Smith is overseeing production of Leona Lewis’s entire next album, making it the first time a producer has worked across one of her releases.

The co-writer of Adele’s Set Fire To The Rain and Taio Cruz’s Break Your Heart told Music Week that, while other producers were working on what will be in Glassheart her third studio set, he was taking a production role for the whole album as well as co-authoring about half its tracks.

This approach is entirely different to Lewis’s first two albums Spirit and Echo, which were littered with different songwriters and producers across their tracks, among them Max Martin, Dr Luke, Stargate, Ryan Tedder and Steve Mac.

Smith suggested having one producer overseeing everything would result in Lewis “making an artist album rather than it being a collection of songs”.

When having a mixture of producers for one album he reckoned “you end up with maybe two or three radio songs and not necessarily the album sales you want”.

“It’s been amazing,” he said. “It’s been a great challenge to come up with a vision at the beginning of how we wanted it to sound and I hope to be able to do more projects like that in the future.”

“People have preconceptions of what Leona is so you want to keep the essence of that and keep pushing the boundaries,” added Smith who is signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing.

She is going to perform her new single at Hackney Weekend. That is what she meant when she said she is going to put a new song in her set.

Album is 80% done apparently. I fully expect them to relaunch her on this year's X Factor live shows and forget that "Collide" ever happened.
