The sky is the limit for Natasha's new entries, love them. Some classic songs from Whitney and Rihanna in there too!

:D thanks! glad you love 'em too.

BadGirl wrote:Still Getting Younder dropped fast from my chart, but i'm glad to see it's still so strong on yours! And love to see Man Down re-entering.
any chance "Still Getting Younger" might get a second wind on your chart? **fingers crossed** ;)

I've actually never been TOO crazy about "Man Down", it's one of my least favorite Loud moments, but it was randomly in my head last week!

joel77m77 wrote:Awesome re-entry from Whitney and good to see Blown Away still charting as well.
thanks :D "Blown Away" has become Carrie's most successful entry ever on my chart, and I think it'll still be around for a little while longer.

adg wrote:Maroon 5, Whitney Houston and Ed Sheeran are great
thanks :D I've really been enjoying Ed's album ever since I bought it a couple weeks ago. have you heard it in full? if so, I'd love to know what you think of it!

JSparksFan wrote:First things first...I'll eat your brains. Sorry, couldn't resist. Let me just say that I totally disapprove of the fall for "Blown Away". Sure it may be Carrie's most successful single on the PaulBoard but I really wanted a #1 for Carrie here. #NotRightRightAndNotOkay
I was SO confused about what you meant by "eat my brains" at first  I'm like, "Akini's a zombie now..?"

any rate, it does look like "Blown Away" will have to "settle" for a No. 4 peak...but it should manage at least another week or two on my chart.

Haribo wrote:I'll check Carly Rae Jepsen's "Curiosity" out. Glad to see songs like "Wide Awake", "You da One" and "Man Down".
ah, please do! I'd love to know what you think of it. :D

"Weightless" really is epic, such a shame that it didn't become another "Unwritten" or "Pocketful Of Sunshine" for her! it's been on my mind again lately since I've been compiling a little 10-song Mid-Year Update chart, on which "Weightless" is set to appear. ;)

Code: Select all
THE RULES:
1.) The PaulBoard Top 50 of 2012 countdown will be compiled by points awarded to each song based on its chart run on my weekly PaulBoard Top 30 chart.  Each week a song spends at No. 1 = 30 points, No. 2 = 29 points, No. 3 = 28 points, and so on.  For example, a song with a chart run of 1 - 1 - 10 - 20 - 30 - OUT would receive 30 + 30 + 21 + 11 + 1 = 93 points.
2.) If multiple songs are tied with the exact same point total, they will be ranked based on their weekly peak position.  If they have the same peak position, they will be ranked based on the number of weeks they spent in the Top 5, Top 10, Top 20, or Top 30.
3.) Any song that charts on my weekly Top 30 is eligible for my year-end Top 50.  That means album tracks and singles will appear.
4.) Any song that debuted on my weekly Top 30 in 2009-2011 is eligible to make my year-end Top 50 of 2012, but a song is only awarded points for the weeks it spent on my weekly chart in 2012.  For the purpose of this Mid-Year Update, the only charts that will count for points are those that fell between 1/1/2012 - 24/6/2011.

~~ ...so what do YOU think have been my biggest hits of 2012 so far? ~~

"Call Me Maybe" is totally your mid-year #1. Lesser songs will battle it out for #2. I figure "We Found Love" will be in the Top 5.

I hope Kelly will be high. I should be releasing my mid year update in the latter half of the week as well so will have to see if we have some similarities.
Looking forward to see yours. :D

Still Getting Younger is a smash hit on your chart!

I'm glad to see Weightless charting, unfortunately Natasha's last album was completely ignored...!

 I was thinking that the placement for WFL might come as a surprise to some, since it was already my No. 2 song of 2011, but I guess it's no secret that I'm still pretty obsessed with it!

you don't say? well, I suppose it would've ruined the photoshoot if he had gotten aroused, so it makes sense that they had to find someone who wouldn't excite him in the slightest. ;)

thanks! we'll definitely have Kelly in common...but I think she'll probably be the only one, unfortunately  still, I look forward to following yours too!

"Somebody That I Used To Know" is good. It wouldn't make my mid-year Top 10 partly due to overexposure but it was definitely a breath of fresh air to have at #1 in the US. I don't remember this being such a big hit on your chart though.

This actually peaked at #2 on the PaulBoard? :o I really need to start paying attention more! If I remember correctly, you said this was your fave of the Complete Confection bonus tracks. For me, it'd definitely be between this and "Part of Me".

Speak of the devil! I loved "Part of Me" at a point in time but it's definitely grown off of me probably due to me overplaying it in the beginning.

You actually introduced me to "Weightless" but it's far from being one of my faves from Natasha. It's decent though.

L-U-V Madonna, Y-O-U you wanna? I haven't yet decided if I'm doing a mid-year chart or not but this would definitely make it high on mine, a top contender for #2. I'm in the minority but I honestly think "Give Me All Your Luvin'" is one of Madge's best tracks to date. Shame it didn't become a bigger hit as it deserved so much more.

I don't know if i'm going to do a mid-year chart, but surely all of this songs (apart from Natasha's one) would be at least in Top 20. :)

I think Call Me Maybe is gonna top your mid-year chart.

Katy's had better than both of those. Gotye is pretty incredible.

Obviously Natasha is the highlight there! <3

10. "Somebody That I Used to Know"
I like this song. Actually, what I like the most about it is its genre. So different from what we always listen to and what always gets success.

09. "Wide Awake"

My fav from Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection and one of my fav from Teenage Dream overall. It's different from other albums tracks.

08. "Part of Me"

I only like it.

07. "Weightless"

I don't know this song. I don't even know the singer!

06. "Give Me All Your Luvin'"

That song is okay. I would've prefered a non-featuring version.
