Justin himself is at the age where fancies pass quickly and the same could be said a thousandfold for his fans. We'll see where this goes!

Disappointing sales in Japan as well. My World 2.0 did 18k and I was definitely expecting at least that.

Do you know My World's total? If it did more than let's say 150k, Believe's opening sales are really bad indeed, if it's (far) less, I can still understand it in some way...

Not exactly sure on the precise sales, but it went Gold and I know it also passed the 100k mark in hard sales. Nothing mind-blowing, but considering he opened with 18k that shows some good longevity for Japan. I had thought this to be enough for a larger opening at least, like 25k.

Then again, Rihanna sold 130k with Loud yet her opening for TTT was relatively low as well. It all depends on how they hang on which I don't think Bieber will do.

Since Boyfriend could sell 500k in a week I thought Believe could do the same. But I'm happy he ends under expectation. The hype around him is lame and imo his voice is not changing for the better :oops:

Justin Bieber's "Believe" arrives, as expected, at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The singer's set sold 374,000 in its debut week according to Nielsen SoundScan, marking the largest bow of the year and Bieber's highest sales frame.

Come on, as ridiculous as you (or I) may think him to be, he's still an artist and he has fans here and I'm sure it wouldn't be tolerated in any other thread : /. Let's have some respect for others!

But I agree, sales are very low. While I definitely wasn't on board with the "MILLION!" expectations, I was thinking 500k shoudl've been possible.

Asia, especially Japan, sometimes jumps on the weirdest songs while ignoring the obvious smash hits. Sounds weird but seems to be like that :wink:

+1 he went to plenty of tv shows to promote it even had a special on NBC, for that amount of promo, it was expected a much bigger debut for sure.
