Coldplay :: The "Mylo Xyloto" Era

Not so in Germany, she hasn't had a single here since We Found Love last October, but still this is one of the few countries where she's really underperforming this time.

The song doesn't have a refrain, that's the problem. For me it's one of the best songs they've ever done but I think the majority of radio listeners doesn't think so if they only here it two or three times (radios don't play this at all).
+ it's kinda old already
+ it still does better than Charlie Brown

And it's not like radios wouldn't play Princess Of China AT ALL, it's just no smasher played every 5 minutes like Somebody That I Used To Know or Heart Skips A Beat :lol:

And why is it kinda old already? Radio started playing this a few weeks ago, the music video premiered a few weeks ago and Princess Of China was released in mid April, so later than some other successful singles at the moment :wink:

I was talking bout Germany, not whole world. Her last hit there was WFL, so I think people might feel that there's too much of Rihanna atm.

The song doesn't have a chorus, but it's so catchy. It's sad to see its peak @ #41(so far), but the album is still going up at least. The current position is not impressive at all, but I'm glad it re-entered the chart

To be honest, if WFL was her last hit that would actually speak against the oversaturation, but I definitely see your point. I personally never thought the song had any hit potential at all (don't think it's catchy in the slightest!) so I'm already surprised with any success it's getting, haha.

But it's actually kinda stable. It went from #47 to #43 last week and now it only fell to #45 again. It's not the hit I expected it to be though, at least not in Germany.

MX is at 5,49€, Viva La Vida is at 5,44€, Rush and X&Y are at 8,99€ and Parachute is at 7,09€...

amazon.. i believe has little weight in the german music industry. i do believe ppl still go to a shop and purchase it there.

however.. the album did it's thing.. selling more than 300k copies.

If it's like that, then the situation can hardly be changed because the shops themselves can decide about the prices of their products and they like to keep them high (e.g. I just bought Janelle Monae's The Archandroid for 18,49€ yesterday

)...

And 300k wouldn't be such a good thing because that'd make it the lowest selling Coldplay album since Parachutes - and the shortest charting one.
