Do you remember Alice DeeJay?

Best knows for their singles "Better Off Alone" (#2 UK) and "Back In My Life" (#4 UK)...what happened to them? I remember seeing an old interview on youtube that took place in 2002 (about 2 years after the release of their first album) where Judy (the lead singer) was talking about them recording a new album...but that never happened, and i'm sure they could have had many more hits in the UK....Better Off Alone would have probably been #1 if it hadn't been blocked for some weeks from the top spot by "Livin' la Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin...back in 1999...

I do indeed! I have most (all?) of their singles.

My favourite, actually, was The Lonely One, which still sounds fresh, and the video still looks good!

Those Svenson/Gielen productions were quite good - I wonder whatever became of Airscape?

Judy no longer works in the music business - but is now a successful stylist and make-up artist and often styles local music acts for video shoots - check out her website.

By the way:

what happened to Alice Deejay?

It was beaten by 'If I Let You Go - Westlife' by approximately 600 copies one week! :x

I really like Alice DeeJay and bought their album too. But the only song I still listen to is 'Better Off Alone'.

Better off alone is one of my favourate dance songs ever. True classic, especially the awesome production. The extended Club mix is the best imo. There were also other remixes which didn't do the song any justice.

my favorites are Back In My Life and Will I Ever.. Why was the whole "Alice Deejay" project finished when it was so successful? I mean not even a 2nd album??

They took some good advice: "Quit While You're Ahead".

I completely agree. Better Off Alone to this day is still a Massive Tune! It still sounds fresh.

They had some good tracks, although I feel like the quality of their singles declined with each single they released.

'Better Off Alone' was (and still is) a tune!
