Songs where you mistook the artist on first listen

What songs did you think on first listen were by a different artist to the actual artist singing?

One example for me is Emeli Sandé and 'Heaven' - when I first heard it, I thought it was Leona Lewis :lol:

I actually think she could do a good version of that track!

There's this chick named Myah Marie who sounds scarily like Britney Spears. Lots of people thought her songs were Britney, cos she sounds so much like her

Especially on the song "Stiletto Sex"...

I though Lil' Kim's part on Lady Marmalade was sung by Eminem on first listen,

i was still young and innocent

And agree with Kesha's part on Right Round, i though it was Katy Perry's voice

Madonna - Frozen. I heard it on the radio in 1998 while driving a car, and did not recognize her at all because this was such a different sound. I thought it was some new group and liked it instantly.

Today i was in a Supermarket. They played Primadonna by Marina. I thought it was Katy Perry. After 2 minutes, i realized that it wasn't Katy.

Both have similiar voices. Not a good thing actually.

"If You Wait For Me" is a song that was falsely attributed to Amy Winehouse. I even disregarded logic until the second verse despite knowing of Winehouses's disdain for pop music, because it sounds just like her (for the first verse + chorus, at least)

The song is sung by a girl/band[?] named Vassy.

There's also a song that was also attributed to Mariah on YouTube. It sounded a lot like Mariah in some parts, and in other parts, it sounded like someone else. Can't remember the name of the song though.

it's like a song within a song, in the verses Jlo's requesting Christina Milian's song (the chorus)..
