At last a list that supports my belief that Dancing queen was not ABBA's biggest hit worldwide.Hanboo wrote:021 10 Fernando Abba (1976)

It certified at 6/17/1983 by Gold (1,000,000), so not possible sold 2 million in US.
Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" was their best-selling single and sold 3,130,000 and ranked #39.ches wrote:What about Queen
Another One Bites The Dust - 4 million + in the US alone
Bohemian Rhapsody - 2.13 Million in the UK alone
Yes, "White Christmas" was certied platinum by the BPI, but that was for sales for the re-issue of the single in the UK alone!nelson wrote:Longest time to sell a million:
• "White Christmas" - Bing Crosby (35 years from 1942 to 1977).
This can be seen that "White Christmas" wasn't a biggest seller to sell over 30 million worldwide. It sold too slow to reach a million.

It is certified 4xPlatinum first time which mean 4 million copies shipped in US.Hanboo wrote:Even the album 'White Christmas' charted again this year.
Nelson, what are Michael Jackson-related and Madonna singles' positions on your list and how much they sold (according to audited numbers, of course).nelson wrote:It is certified 4xPlatinum first time which mean 4 million copies shipped in US.Hanboo wrote:Even the album 'White Christmas' charted again this year.
I am interested in when would RIAA certify the single "White Christmas"...

Since what you listed #28 on the Eurochart, is it "Music & Media"? Since the chart's not based on sales, it's based on some kind of point system, and hence the year-end, too, based on point system, so don't use "Music & Media" chart compared to Oljo Eurochart.AutomaticBR wrote:seattleboy wrote:#28 on the Eurochart year-end chart of 1996. Seeing that #28 on the Eurochart YEC of 2003 sold 763k, "One sweet day" must have sold around 900k in 1996 in Europe.AutomaticBR wrote:Where's Mariah's singles on your list? Well, "One sweet day" surelly sold more than 4 million worldwide, nearly 5 I think! It was in the Top 30 YEC in Europe in 1996, something like that, and in US through soundscan has more than 2.3 million
You would say my number is too low, so I'm not posting any figures about Mariah Carey. LOL.AutomaticBR wrote:Where's Mariah's singles on your list? LOL I Know Nelson, but I understand that your numbers seems low cuz you only count the certifications (and a few official numbers for UK or soundscan) you have, and Mariah doesn't have a lot of certifications for singles! So yeah, post your numbers =)nelson wrote:You would say my number is too low, so I'm not posting any figures about Mariah Carey. LOL.AutomaticBR wrote:Where's Mariah's singles on your list? What countries are you using to get these figures. By the way record labels use shipments, when they release worldwide sales figures not actual sales.nelson wrote:OK, fine, I post them now.
