Two out of Five stars
Running time: 123 mins

Rock of Ages is mildly entertaining throughout, thanks to a colourful cast, a constant stream of decent-ish musical numbers and a scene-stealing baboon, but the plot is paper-thin, the characters are underwritten, there's a painful lack of laughs and the whole thing just isn't as much fun as it could have been.

Damp squib at box office: #3 US, #4 UK.

Soundtrack is big, though - #2 UK comp. albums. Beaten only by Now 81.

It's fun but has nothing on the stage show and no idea why they changed the storyline so much

^For a PG-13 rating!

I loved it.

I love all those 80s songs.

I've never seen the show.

Tom Cruise was good. That kiss!

I didn't buy that Alec Baldwin/Russell Brand twist.

No but in the stage show, Sherrie and Drew never get together to begin with, there isn't a main part for the journalist, loads of stuff now that I can't remember that was changed and would have had no effect on the rating!

^That's what I read.

They cut a lap dance scene from the movie.
