Here I Stand
Hand in Hand
Lonely like a stranger on the shore
I can't stand
this feeling anymore
Day by Day
this world's all grey
And if dreams were eagles
I would fly
But they ain´t

Goombay Dance Band - Seven Tears
When you walked out you did me a favor
It's absolutely clear to me
That love is a bourgeois construct
Just like they said at university

Did Shakira compose those herself? She's funny.

Yes, she write all her songs.

Off course I don't consider this lyrics "lame" in a bad way like some other lyrics posted here which are vulgar and atrocious, but I just find them funny... but I love Shakira also for her unusual lyrics! :P

Every day of the week

Get ready for this and get dressed
'Cause when you miss the boat you're gonna be stressed yeah

Big house, long hallways, got ten bathrooms, I can shit all day, n*gga

By Lil Wayne, of course this rhymes with a previous verse which also ends with 'n*gga'.

I can't at all that "American Life" shade in this thread.

Seriously, I think that it's her best single she's ever done, when it comes to lyrics.

My favourite "lamest rhymes" are taken from "The Social Network Song" by Valentina Monetta.

Do you wanna be more than just a friend?
Do you wanna play cyber-sex again?
If you wanna come to my house
Then click me with your mouse
Do you really like politics?
When I talk about voodoo tricks
Are you really a sex-machine?
Or just a beauty queen?

"Now see, I'm mommy
And that makes you papi
And that makes us lovey, oww"

Masterpiece of lyrical deepness...

It's Britney Spears' Mmmm papi...

Cinema Bizarre - I Came 2 Party

"I came to party
and you came to party
So why don't we party together"

This is the chorus - cringeworthy, isn't it?

You're right, compare this genius to Like a Prayer and Frozen:

I'm drinking a Soy latte
I get a double shot
It goes right through my body

Amazing.

Yes, amazing when compared to:

And you know I'm satisfied

You’re Delicious
So Capricious
If I find out you don’t want me I’ll be vicious

You re my lover
undercover
You’re my sacred passion and I have no other

You’re a fire
and desire
When I kiss your lips, you know, you take me higher

Helena Paparizou - My Number One

I love it, but the rhymes are so lame :P

Lenny Kravitz - Mr. Cab Driver

The whole song follows a pretty bad rhyming pattern, but I think this phrase is the worst.

Mr. Cab Driver don't like the way I look
He don't like dreads he thinks we're all crooks
Mr. Cab Driver reads too many story books

Ay Ay Sailor-Baccara

I thought I loved a tailor man,
Until I saw the sailor man
About twice the size of me, and also strong
He put my heart in such a mess
Until I heard myself say yes
When he asked me if I will sail along

Ay, ay sailor, or my my sailor
You sure done something to me
Bye, bye tailor, goodbye bye tailor
Let go I've got to be free

I wanna sail away with him,
That's where I love to be
Along with my, my sailor
So ay, ay sailor
You know I joined you at sea

Not really lame but it's difficult to imagine Madonna singing about workers' rights

Get Up-Madonna

You get out of bed And you look in the mirror
And the haze in your head Doesn't get any clearer
The boss man said You're gonna lose your job
You're gonna lose your pay If you're late, late

And then the weatherman said It's gonna be sunny
And it starts to rain And you don't think it's funny
So you visit your friends But there's no one home And you don't have a dime And you can't even call
them on the phone So get up

Your stomach's so empty And you need some food
So you distract yourself But it just doesn't do any good
You think about going home But it can't be the same
'Cause they'll never change About the sin of youth
And the wasting of time And wanna grab your hair
And pull you in line so get up

Get Up Pick yourself off the ground
No one can push you around
Don't let it get you down

And of course I love this environmental message from Slovakia:
Save The Jungle-MC Eric & Barbara

Save the jungle Jungle,
we have to save, I said jungle,
i have to save, Said jungle,
you have to save, I said jungle,
we have to save
We save the jungle for us
We save the jungle for us
We save the jungle for us
We save the jungle for us

We save the jungle, have more trees
We save the animals, they wanna live free
We save the jungle I'll let you hear the drum
We need breath, we need oxygen
We save the jungle, come on, let's do it
We save the flowers, so move it, so move it
Don't let it be, better now than later
Save the jungle, save the nature

We save the jungle, we can't wait
We must help, tomorrow is too late
We save the jungle, now and today
But not there, we are so far away
We are gonna help here on the places
We are gonna scream so many days
We are gonna sing all night long
Everybody listen to the jungle song

I like it, how she levels criticismn on American society. The rap part wasn't meant to have the most amazing rhymes. It's about greed, consuption and being shallow and all this is represented in that rap-part. The lyrics of its stanzas and chorus are well-written and I think that both parts totally come together. It works for me.

The woman who wasted her entire existence with the goal of being famous talking about greed, consumption and being shallow...

And that Che Guevara sytled album cover... what the hell was she thinking?

Artists who have nothing deep to say should stick to making fun and enjoyable songs. When they pretend to be intellectuals they look ridiculous. People like Madonna and Lady Gaga clearly have nothing to say. They should stick to what they´re good at, which is making enjoyable dance songs. Leave the political message and world changing ideas to they guys who actually know what they´re talking about.
