A single debuting at #1 on Hot 100 is not a common accomplishment. Until now, there are only 20 Hot 100 #1 hits which debuted at #1.
Some notes:
- The first ever single to debut at #1 was You Are Not Alone by Michael Jackson. Before the end of 1998, when Billboard started to allow airplay only to chart on Hot 100, there were 10 #1 debuts, the last #1 debut was Doo Wop (That Thing) by Lauryn Hill.
- Started in 2003, four American Idol coronation singles did it, in 4 consecutive years.
- 3 by Britney Spears became the first ever non-American Idol single to debut at #1 in 11 years.
- Mariah Carey set the record for most singles debuting at #1 with 3 different singles. Only Mariah Carey & Britney Spears, artist with multiple singles debuting at #1.

List of singles which debuted at #1 Hot 100:

1. Michael Jackson — "You Are Not Alone" (September 2, 1995)
2. Mariah Carey — "Fantasy" (September 30, 1995)
3. Whitney Houston — "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" (November 25, 1995)
4. Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men — "One Sweet Day" (December 2, 1995)
5. Puff Daddy and Faith Evans featuring 112 — "I'll Be Missing You" (June 14, 1997)
6. Mariah Carey — "Honey" (September 13, 1997)
7. Elton John — "Candle in the Wind 1997" (October 11, 1997)
8. Céline Dion — "My Heart Will Go On" (February 28, 1998)
9. Aerosmith — "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" (September 5, 1998)
10. Lauryn Hill — "Doo Wop (That Thing)" (November 14, 1998)
11. Clay Aiken — "This Is the Night" (June 28, 2003)
12. Fantasia — "I Believe" (July 10, 2004)
13. Carrie Underwood — "Inside Your Heaven" (July 2, 2005)
14. Taylor Hicks — "Do I Make You Proud" (July 1, 2006)
15. Britney Spears — "3" (October 24, 2009)
16. Eminem — "Not Afraid" (May 22, 2010)
17. Kesha — "We R Who We R" (November 13, 2010)
18. Britney Spears — "Hold It Against Me" (January 29, 2011)
19. Lady Gaga — "Born This Way" (February 26, 2011)
20. Katy Perry — "Part of Me" (March 3, 2012)

SOON
:D

Anyway, i want your opinion, should i include 4 American Idol coronation singles for this survivor? Because those singles were probably only known in North America, not worldwide

Even though I only like two of the four Idol tracks, I think they should be included. Can't wait for this to start, btw. :D

There's no harm in including them, I think you should, I doubt it will effect the outcome anyways.

I've decided to include those Idol songs so it's fair, I'm sure a few of you know the songs and probably like them more than other non-Idol #1 debuts :D
