Apart from Swift, any new releases coming out this year pass 2million or even 1million?

There's also Jason Aldean.

Is Taylor Swift definitely releasing an album this year - nothing's showing up on the metacritic new release schedule.

Just got curious! Maybe there were other 1 million sellers out of Top 100 or there were exactly a hundred million sellers in that year? :o
I'm fairly certain it was exactly 100 - when they published these lists in Billboard the length of the chart was determined by the number of million sellers. Of course, those stats I posted were for SoundScan only, so in the years where music club sales were substantial there may well have been a few others.

3rd week of October is the estimated album release according to BMR's label President

Edit

Expect new album to be announced on August 13th by Taylor Swift with additional rumors that her lead out single will play during the broadcast with release to radio on Tuesday...

But seriously, not looking too hot right now with the except of Adele and One Direction. It's going to be a dry finish in the end.
1 Million today seems like an absolute smash then...

I still have faith in the coming xmas season though..
Last year, the Christmas sales were rather disappointing with only 6 albums selling 100k+ in the Christmas week. 10 years ago, the entire top 50 was doing so...

You might think that if the people don't buy albums the whole year, then they might do it for Christmas/celebrating purposes - d'oh!

And I don't see a huge Christmas blockbuster this year.

I don't people are going to swarm for the Rod Stewart one. I do expect Michael Buble to return in the top 10 again and ... unfortunately, Justin Bieber as well.

I don't see a new Michael Buble release on the metacritic site either…

Here's a link

http://www.metacritic.com/browse/albums ... w=detailed

Is there a better site for viewing upcoming new releases?

Plus Adele, One Dierection, Lionel Richie and maybe Bieber and Carrie. So that makes about 8/9 million sellers in the year. Hope we're proved wrong :-?

What I found:

"At No. 2 this week in the Billboard 200, Zac Brown Band's "Uncaged" slips a slot with 39,000 (down 18%). With a fourth week in the top two, it's only the second album this year to spend a month or longer in the region. The other is Adele's "21," which has claimed 22 frames in the top two this year."

This makes it obvious why the sales look so dull on the YTD chart. When weekly sales are so low as they are at the moment, you have to depend even more on longevity, what most albums seem to lack today.
Only 4 albums managed to be in the top 10 for 10 or more weeks this year (Drake's Take Care and Lionel Richie's Tuskegee for 10 weeks, One Direction's Up All Night for 20 weeks, Adele's 21 for 32 weeks).
At the same point 10 years ago, 9 albums achieved this (P!nk's M!ssundazdood for 20 weeks, Ashanti's Ashanti for 16 weeks, Ludacris' Word Of Mouf and Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory for 14 weeks, Now 9 and the Soundtrack of O Brother for 12 weeks, Eminem's The Eminem Show and Alan Jackson's Drive for 11 weeks, plus Celine Dion's A New Day Has Come for 10 weeks)...

AC/DC's Back In Black - Original + 2003 Remaster. 4.01m
