Six Feet Under: Series 5

The 5th and last series of US drama Six Feet Under starts on Tuesday, 10pm on E4. This is one of my favourite TV series, so I’m really glad its back!

When did the last series end, was it only this year? I can’t even remember much about the last series, the ending was a murder scene involving Nate, I think. I don’t know why Six Feet Under works, but it does.

There isn’t anything really special, groundbreaking, exciting about it…but it is really enjoyable, the characters are well developed and the viewer can easily empathise with them :D

This is one show I never got in to. It always seemed boring to me. Good riddance to a very depressing show...

It is depressing sometimes, but at least Ruth (the old one) provides some funny moments.

I love the show, but I don't know if I can be bothered to watch it on E4. Put it on Channel 4 then I'm sure I'd watch it.

On E4 they keep claiming to be 'the only place' to show Six Feet Under. Does that mean it's not going to be shown on Channel 4 and, if so, why nor? Six Feet Under kicks ass!

That most mean the only channel at the moment with the new series, it will be Channel 4 eventually but at a much later time, like the last series on C4.

So far this series, Ruth holds the strongest storyline (she has to care for her husband George who has gone loopy and she can’t cope)

One of the most original and interesting programs on TV finally rests into peace.

I have seen every episode, from the most brilliant to the merely excellent, and I will miss it.

Sometimes when a series ends you feel kind of cheated, like it could have been more special.

Not in this case.

That was incredible.

no series finale spoilers since it hasn't aired there yet, but I will say one thing... you will not be disapointed. I'd honestly say the last Six Feet Under is the greatest series finale I've ever seen, and I mean EVER seen, and it's not even one of my top 10 favorite shows.

This series is as brilliantly dark as ever but why hasn't there been anymore about Lisa's murder?

I'm kinda glad they did away with it. Lisa IMO was nothing more but set up as an obstacle between Nate and Brenda.

^

Didnt the last series end with a murder scene? Nate killed someone as far as I can remember...nothing has been mentioned of that so far.

Every story line thats going on at the moment is really interesting...Brenda's job as a therapist is really interesting, as is Ruth having to deal with George's destructive behaviour.

Lisa's brother-in-law confessed to murdering Lisa and then killed himself.

God, you guys are in for a treat since you still have season 5 to go. The last 4 episodes of the series are all equally powerful, and it all leads up to the finale. There's some shocking and powerful stuff that happens... and I'm not even talking about the finale.

Yesterday's episode was excellent, Ruth finally left George (well for now) and Claire got a job...

Six Feet Under works so well because when you've watched a few episodes, you really feel like you know the characters!

I am missing this series! I've missed the last few episodes, because I am @ uni and we don't have E4 on the TV :x Just my luck, I'm missing the final episodes of my favourite show...

Does anyone know when the Series 5 Box Set will be released?

BTW, does anyone have any of the other Six Feet Under box sets? I have seen a few, but they are really expensive. I would probably buy the first series if its @ a reasonalbe price: that box set seems to be the most accessible, I have'nt even seen Series 4 stocked anywhere!

The penultimate episode in on tonight on E4, and there is a documentry on the series after it. I've missed about half the series so I really need to get the box set when ever it comes out...

I didnt see the ending, but there wouldn't be any point in me watching it since I missed half the series....and I'm a huge fan...can't wait for the box set....no spoilers BTW!!

Did you watch the Retrospective after the show, on E4? I seen a bit of it...nice to see classic moments from past series....

Who owns the other box sets? I'm getting through series 1 currently, and I'm almost done...I really wanna get the other ones too!!

Hey, didn't the creator also create the movie American Beauty?? I can definitely see the similarites b'tween 6 Feet Under and that fantastic film...

Y'all have to watch the repeat of the finale on Sunday. I honestly can't enthuse enough about the brilliance of the episode. I'm kinda not even that sad that there won't be any more episodes cos it just ended soooooooooooo perfectly.

Okay...I watched the repeat on E4 last night and it was amazing, it definitely exceeded my expectations and my expectations were high! Possibly best episode ever...the ending, I think, is the best ending to a series ever. It ended so incredibly, unexpected but so true to the Six Feet Under style!

This show has certainly been phenomenal...I'll certainly miss it!
