920. Eiffel 65 – One Goal 2000
Shall we just gloss over this one? icon_lol.gif .

919. James Brown – Papas Got A Brand New Bag 1965
Heh - classic, but not really my thing.

918. Beatles – Ticket To Ride 1965
Far from their best - but still a classic.

917. Blues Brothers – Everybody Needs Somebody To Love 1990
Woooo - a school favourite this one - one for presenters to perform at school variety shows icon_biggrin.gif

916. Lou Bega – Mambo No. 5 1999
I did indeed know he was German - and

915. Sophie Ellis Bextor – Take Me Home 2001
Good - but not her best IMO. Interesting to see that Martin's favourite song of all time is therefore not even in your top 1000 - and I'd presume the same would be true the other way around.

914. Glenn Frey – The Heat Is On 1985
See James Brown entry above icon_wink.gif

913. Boyzone – Baby Can I Hold You 1997
*grunts* Tracy Chapman is amazing. Boyzone's version is really bland in comparison

912. Fear Factory – Cars 1999
I only know *of* this cover version.

911. Republica – Ready To Go 1996
Awww - no "Drop Dead Gorgeous" then icon_frown.gif . WOo anyway

910. Abba – Knowing Me Knowing You 1977
Aha!
(sorry, it just had to be done icon_redface.gif )

909. Stone Roses – Fools Gold 1989
Okay, but rather overrated song imo.

908. Al Green – Lets Stay Together 1972
See James Brown and Glenn Frey above.

907. Radiohead – Street Spirit (Fade Out) 1996
Tom wrote:
I know I’ll probably get loads of complaints from their fans for saying that
I'm not even a fan (as Pippa and John will testify to regarding my comments about their more recent output) but even I disagree with you there. This is probably the best out of a number of really classic songs that should make my top 1000.

906. Isaac Hayes – Theme From Shaft 1971
Nah - prefer the South Park one icon_redface.gif icon_redface.gif icon_redface.gif

905. ZZ Top – Viva Las Vegas 1992
Woooooooo for ZZ Top. I always loved those beards - doubt if I'd want one myself though icon_eek.gif .

904. Bernard Cribbins – Right Said Fred 1962

Now you can just see from the picture he's a broad Cockney icon_lol.gif . Rrrrrrrright said Fred, gotta get a move on - classic icon_cool.gif

903. Blur – Charmless Man 1996
Awwww - this will be much higher in my list, naturally.

902. Jamie Cullum – Frontin’ 2004
I seriously hope some of his good songs are still to come icon_eek.gif

901. Papa Roach – Last Resort 2000
Odd that - my one-hit-wonder-Papa-Roach-track is "Between Angels and Insects" - which I thought was far better than "Last Resort".

Unfortunately, I only like one song (Republica) out of that last list.
When life hands y'all lemons, say $#%! the lemons and bail!

900. Beyonce – Crazy In Love 2003
Didn’t see this coming did you? I wasn’t huge on this at first, but, although not a big fan of hers, I recognise this as a real modern classic, and probably one of the best floorfillers of all time. Plus of course she’s perfect hehe.

899. Cliff Richard – The Young Ones 1962
I don’t care what you say or think, Cliff is brilliant, and this classic 60s pop song is a perfect example of his early stuff. The original, the funny Comic Relief duet with The Young Ones (Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson etc) doesn’t make my list, but was incidentally the number one song on the day I was born. Lots more Cliff to come.

898. Derek & The Dominoes – Layla 1972
One of the best ever pieces of rock music now with Eric Claptons band with the divine ‘Layla’. Its one of the longest songs in the list, and has a brilliant guitar riff, with a nice long outro that lasts about 2 minutes in itself. His recent unplugged version is also brilliant, but doesn’t quite make my list.

897. Bon Jovi – Something For The Pain 1996
Another great rock song from the Jovi now, and one that seems to be slightly forgotten. I remember it well, being a Top 10 hit. It just has a great tune and brilliant lyrics.

896. Queen – Flash 1980
The first of many many Queen songs now with this classic theme from the Flash Gordon movie. They did the whole soundtrack, with this being the best. Although quite short and weird, with quotes from the movie including ‘Gordon’s Alive??’ and ‘Flash, I Love You! But we only have 14 hours to save the Earth!’, it is still brilliantly Queen.

895. Santana feat. Rob Thomas – Smooth 1999
Modern classic now with award muncher Santana from the brilliant ‘Supernatural’ comeback album. The fantastic riffs from the great guitarist and generally good tune sung by Rob Thomas make it a truly great song.

894. Abba – SOS 1976
More great pop from Abba here with the catchy ‘Help we’re lost’ song from the mid 70s. Sorry, just can’t think of much to say for them!

893. Duran Duran – Rio 1982
One of my favourite bands make their first appearance here with a slice of great 80s pop that is a great example of the things to come from Simon Le Bon and co. Expect much more from them too.

892. Bad Company – Can’t Get Enough 1974
Some classic 70s rock now with Bad Company. You might not know it from title but you probably will once you’ve heard it. It truly is one of the most memorable rock songs ever. More from them later.

891. Tom Jones & Cardigans – Burning Down The House 1999
More from Tom’s ‘Reload’ album here with his duet with The Cardigans. I don’t usually like pop covers of great originals (the original still to come), but Toms vocals are enough to put this version in as well.

890. Public Image Ltd – This Is Not A Love Song 1983
John Lydons other band chart here with their much less punky Top 5 hit. And yes, it really ain’t a love song! More John as part of another band still to come.

889. Basement Jaxx – Where’s Your Head At? 2001
Some brilliant dance music from the kings of modern dance Basement Jaxx. I quite liked them anyway (one more entry still to come from them), but when they decided to sample two Gary Numan songs (‘M.E.’ and ‘This Wreckage’) to help make this song brilliant, then I began to love them. Also had a brilliant video with psycho monkeys.

888. Donovan – Mellow Yellow 1967
Classic folk music now from the king, Donovan. People should know this anyway, but if not, you probably heard it on that Gap advert a while back. Music doesn’t get much sweeter than this.

887. T Rex – Ride A White Swan 1970
Now for a nice little piece of music from T Rex. Usually they were a lot more glam rocky, but this had a gentler feel to it. Still great though of course.

886. Moby – Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad 1999
Lets chillout now with this piano driven ballad from Moby from the great ‘Play’ album. More of the same to come.

885. OMD – Enola Gay 1980
Now for one of the best 80s electro pop songs ever. Another one you might not know by title, but will once you hear it. Perfect 80s pop.

884. Eels – Mr Es Beautiful Blues 2000
This is one of the greatest indie tunes of the 2000s so far, great summery pop/rock music that brightens up your day.

883. Pharrell – Frontin’ 2003
Lets get all the meh’s then. Don’t know why I love it so much, but I think it’s a great song, and what rap songs should all be like. Jay-Z makes another cameo appearance.

882. David Bowie – Oh You Pretty Things 1972
Now for brilliant early forgotten rock music from David Bowie, and his first entry of many. Expect loads from this king.

881. Robbie Williams – Feel 2002
More Robbie now with this recent ballad. Lots of people seem to think its not that great but I think it’s a great offering off a brilliant album.

880. Bee Gees – This Is Where I Came In 2001
This is from the Bee Gees’ most recent album, and the lead single off it. You might not remember it but it was a really good soft rock track with some brilliant riffs. It showed that they were still great after so many years. More of them to come of course.

879. Blur – Song 2 1997
One of the shortest songs in the list, and one of many peoples’ favourite Blur songs. I think it’s a brilliant rock track with one of the most memorable rock moments ever, but it isn’t one of my favourites from them. Still great though. Brilliant video too. Woo-hoo!

878. Carpenters – Close To You 1970
Sorry if this is a bit low on the chart, when its probably one of the best regarded songs ever. This has got to be one of the best ballads of all time, which showed what a fantastic voice Karen Carpenter had. They were a truly great band, with this being their most famous song. Still another one to come from them too.

877. Police – Message In A Bottle 1979
Now for another truly great band. They have quite a few entries in this list, with Sting himself getting a few. Here’s the first, a number one single from the late seventies.

876. ZZ Top – Doubleback 1990
More from the Top now with the song I only know because it was the main song from Back To The Future Part 3. Its also a great rock song that’s typical of them.

875. Kinobe – Slip Into Something More Comfortable 2000
One of the best modern chillout songs now from Kinobe. If someone can clarify what this song samples I would be very greatful. It’s a beautiful piece of calm music to listen to on a sunny day.

874. Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman – Somethin’ Stupid 2001
Now one from Robbie’s ‘Swing When You’re Winning’ album, and the only single from it, the 2001 Christmas number one. A very bizarre duet but its still great, and in my opinion much better than the original by Frank & Nancy.

873. B*Witched – To You I Belong 1998
Guilty pleasure alert! These girls were actually a girl group with good songs, unlike the crap that are around today (Atomic Kitten, Girls Aloud etc). This was their third number one in a row, and my favourite of theirs, a nice little ballad which had a fantastic melody, which was enough to get it this high up my list.

872. Mike Oldfield – Tubular Bells 1973
Now heres a song with some story behind it. This song is actually about an hour long altogether, and has been made several times by Oldfield over the years. It was from his first album of the same name, which was simply just one really long song that was so good it could just go on forever! Obviously the single version was a tad shorter, but still amazing. If you don’t know by title, you’ll probably know it as the spooky theme to The Exorcist. A truly amazing song and probably the best instrumental of all time.

871. Cyndi Lauper – Time After Time 1984
This should carry a few woo’s. Back when Cyndi was a young teenager, she recorded this brilliant ballad that was to be covered several times by other people. This will always be the best though.

870. Rush – Spirit Of Radio 1980
Now for some real classic rock from Rush. Heard this properley for the first time on the Air Guitar album and was wowed by the brilliance of the guitar work. This was regarded their best ever hit, and I’m not surprised why.

869. Beach Boys – Surfin USA 1963
Here’s some brilliant surf rock from the kings of surf, the Beach Boys. This was one of their first hits before they became credible with classics still to come in this list. This was a more poppy offering, which gave some influence to some blokes called the Beatles. Don’t expect the awful cover by Aaron Carter though.

868. Beatles – I Want To Hold Your Hand 1964
And here are those blokes we mentioned! Its one of the standards so to speak by the guys, and one of their earliest hits and number ones. Whenever I hear this track I instantly know what it is, and I’m sure everyone around the world agrees.

867. Offspring – Hit That 2004
Another very recent song here from the Offspring. They disappeared for a while, but returned in style this year with a brilliant headbanging track that is one of their best ever. Also the cool use of keyboards makes it even better.

866. Billy J Kramer – Bad To Me 1963
Now for some perfect 60s pop with this charming song that I listened to a lot as a kid. Most of you probably don’t know it, but it was a big number one in the sixties, and Billy was a big name. A slight forgotten gem perhaps.

865. Levellers – What A Beautiful Day 1992
Heres what indie rock should be, taught by the greatness of the Levellers. Its exactly what it says on the tin, you need to listen to this when there is a beautiful day outside. Its brilliant. One more from them much higher up.

864. Freak Power – Turn On Tune In Cop Out 1995
One of Norman Cook’s guises, this song which was used in a Levi’s ad was a brilliant mix of rock and dance to create one super cool piece of music.

863. Daniel Bedingfield – Without The Girl 2002
First of quite a few from Mr Bedingfield now. Some of you think he’s an idiot but I think hes one of the best artists to come out of Britain for a long time. His debut album was amazing, and from it is this ballad. A lot of the songs had a lot of meaning for me, which will be explained a lot more later on, and this song said exactly how I was feeling about a girl at the time. Great stuff.

862. Bloodhound Gang – Bad Touch 2000
Heres a real cult song that picked up a lot of airplay, and made into a summer smash. Made by one of the rudest bands ever, its mere Discovery Channel line was enough to get everyone including me loving it. Brilliant tune.

861. Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes – I’ve Had The Time Of My Life 1987
Now here’s a song that for ages I really hated for some reason. Then last year for the first time I actually saw Dirty Dancing and realised it’s a really good tune. I was getting it mixed up with ‘Up Where We Belong’ by the same woman with Joe Cocker, which to this day I hate. This however is a great tune, that reminds me of my girlfriend because its her favourite film, like most women!

It's Engelbert Humperdinck's hit "From here to eternity".

My favourite out of this lot is certainly the Carpenters.
Woos also for Cyndi and the Bloodhound gang. I like all these songs more or less anyway.

Woo for:

Beyonce - Crazy In Love, brilliant.
Bon Jovi - Something For The Pain, underrated but still great
Santana - Smooth, it's just as the title suggests
Robbie Williams - Feel, not a Rob fan at all, but this one ain't too bad
Bloodhound Gang - Bad Touch, complete trash - I love it!
"The Time Of My Life" - great song, though having not watched it til last year, I loved this when I was young due to it's use on an old ep of 90210! icon_redface.gif

But bleugh for Pharrel. If all rap songs were more like that, I'd turn my back on hiphop!
When life hands y'all lemons, say $#%! the lemons and bail!

860. Good Charlotte – Girls & Boys 2003
Might be surprised to see this so high but I think it’s a really good rock track, and one of the best from last year, and even better than their first hit which was also brilliant.

859. Mungo Jerry – In The Summertime 1970
Now for one of the best summer songs ever. Whenever you hear the chorus of this you generally feel good inside and know that it must be a nice sunny day outside. A brilliant debut single for Ray Dorset and his mates.

858. Johnny Cash – Ring Of Fire 1961
Now for the super cool man in black, the late, great Johnny Cash. This is first of two entries in my chart, this one being probably his most well known hit, way back near the start of his career. It’s a really good and classic country rock track, which showed how brilliant he was.

857. Rembrandts – I’ll Be There For You 1994
Here’s one of the most succesful singles of all time in the UK believe it or not. This is because it was released twice and on both occasions sold well. It is of course the theme tune to the Friends TV series that sums it up superbly. And although its got pretty overplayed over the years, its still a great pop track. Too bad it was their only hit though.

856. Ultravox – Dancing With Tears In My Eyes 1984
Now for another brilliant 80s electro pop classic, this time from Midge and his mate Ultravox. Its another slightly forgotten song but a really good one, but nowhere near as good as their biggest hit, which is much higher up.

855. Queen – I Want It All 1989
A bit of Queen’s later stuff now, but still brilliantly rocking. The pulsating chorus should be embedded in everyones memory by now, a truly great song. Not as good as a lot of their other stuff though, so expect lots more from them!

854. Feeder – Buck Rogers 2000
The only entry from Feeder now with this glorious headbanging anthem. Its weird to say, but they are the only band I’ve ever seen play live, at the local BIC, along with Aqualung as their support act (who are still to come). And they didn’t disappoint, with this favourite of mine being performed excellently. ‘Its got a CD PLAYER! PLAYER! PLAYER!’

853. Brand New Heavies – Midnight At The Oasis 1994
There have many different versions of this classic, but for me, this is the best. It’s a brilliantly sweet summery sound that makes me feel good whenever I hear it.

852. Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich – Legend Of Xanadu 1966
Here’s one of the weirdest and longest name for a band! But they were actually an insanely popular boy group back in the sixties, with many hits. This was probably their most famous, a brilliant and weird song with laser sounds galore. Great stuff.

851. Suede – Filmstar 1997
This ones a really cool track, but kind of forgotten compared to their other hits. I was only reminded of it recently when it was used in an advert. Lyrically it ain’t amazing but the tune and the riffs are just perfect. Not the end for Suede in the list.

850. Boston – More Than A Feeling 1976
Now for some real classic 70s guitar rock. Whenever you see rock albums released this is usually on it, one of those classics that when you hear it you’re instantly reminded of it.

849. Queen – Seven Seas Of Rhye 1973
More Queen now, and here is actually their first ever single. Before they were in the mainstream and were making some classic and more radio friendly music, they were more stadium rockish, with this being their best song on their first couple of albums. Nice piano work in it, and interesting use of ‘I do like to be beside the seaside’ at the end of it.

848. Dr Hook – Sylvia’s Mother 1971
Now for one that I have only just discovered a couple of weeks ago, but was that good to feature so high. It’s a bizarre but rather brilliant rock ballad about a guy trying to get through to his girlfriend but has to pass her mother first. Bitch. Still, a great record.

847. Hall & Oates – I Can’t Go For That 1981
Here’s one that I only discovered because of another recent song. This particular one is a the tune that is heavily sampled in Simply Red’s brilliant ‘Sunrise’ (still to come). And because of that, the original, though different lyrically is still fantastic. Summery and great.

846. Sugababes – Overload 2000
When these girls came on the scene back then, I somehow knew they were different. Different meaning, a good girl group! This was their debut single, and, with a brillant tune and great bassline it was one of my favourites that year. The best was still to come from them though.

845. Daniel Bedingfield – He Don’t Love You Like I Love You 2002
Another generally great album track from Bedders here with the poppiest song on it, but still amazing. Much more to come from him.

844. Chuck Berry – Johnny B Goode 1959
Now for one of the best guitar gods of all time. There aren’t many who can compare to Chuck’s skills as a performer. This is one of his most famous tracks, and for me it was even better as Marty McFly sang it at the end of Back To The Future with Chuck’s cousin Marvin hehe.

843. Madonna – Vogue 1990
Another of the few Madonna songs now with her super cool brilliant pop song about the greats of stage and screen. Some cool hand movements in the video too.

842. Norah Jones – Don’t Know Why 2002
I didn’t really hear this until about a year after the album came out, but when I heard it I realised why she was so popular. You cant really get more relaxed than this. I love listening to this when sitting in the back garden on a sunny day.

841. Chuck Berry – No Particular Place To Go 1964
And here’s Chucks second and final entry in the list with the fantastic car song. A smile crosses my face when I hear the chorus and of course the line, ‘Riding along in my automabeeeeel’. Classic.

I like the above ^
Good choices again. Buck Rodgers is probably my favourite Feeder song, Brand New Heavies is a great version of that song and one of the finer Sugababes moments on "Overload". Classic Chuck Berry song, and suprisingly enough I have heard Legend of Xanadu which is a cool song in a weird way.

There's a few there that I'm not all that familiar with, for a start

858. Johnny Cash – Ring Of Fire 1961
856. Ultravox – Dancing With Tears In My Eyes 1984
852. Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich – Legend Of Xanadu 1966
851. Suede – Filmstar 1997
850. Boston – More Than A Feeling 1976
848. Dr Hook – Sylvia’s Mother 1971
847. Hall & Oates – I Can’t Go For That 1981
845. Daniel Bedingfield – He Don’t Love You Like I Love You 2002

853. Brand New Heavies – Midnight At The Oasis 1994
Sorry - never liked this song, never will, not sure why though.

860. Good Charlotte – Girls & Boys 2003
Of all time? No way icon_lol.gif

854. Feeder – Buck Rogers 2000
That's another I'd personally struggle to call an all time classic really - because I prefer several other Feeder hits to it. icon_eek.gif

844. Chuck Berry – Johnny B Goode 1959
Pretty classic, but I don't recall it.

857. Rembrandts – I’ll Be There For You 1994
Good - but the most overplayed song in history icon_lol.gif

855. Queen – I Want It All 1989
849. Queen – Seven Seas Of Rhye 1973
I trust virtually all of Queen's singles are in this list, because all the ones you've listed so far are amongst their weaker ones. Still classics though icon_wink.gif .

843. Madonna – Vogue 1990
Heh - it's classic, but not totally my style. Won't be in my top 1000, I don't think.

859. Mungo Jerry – In The Summertime 1970
846. Sugababes – Overload 2000
842. Norah Jones – Don’t Know Why 2002
841. Chuck Berry – No Particular Place To Go 1964

Well - what can be said about those four very different songs? Mungo Jerry's one is a true 70s classic - really great summer anthem. That's the Sugababes finest moment by far (and that Gary Numan sampling song that's still to come is my least favourite by them pretty much icon_razz.gif ). Norah Jones is amazing, but "Come Away With Me" is even MORE amazing than "Don't Know Why" IMO. As for that Chuck Berry track - it sure is a classic.

The Rembrandts had some minor hits in the beginning of the 90s, which were much superior to that... "theme".

I like the sweet funky jazz soul of the Brand New Heavies
- I hope there's more from them to come.

Woos for Dr. Hook (I am still under the impression that it was Sylvia herself to blame for her mother's attitude), Hall & Oates, Sugababes and Madonna.

Boo for Norah Jones. icon_evil.gif

840. John Travolta & Olivia Newton John – Summer Nights 1978
Another one now from the Grease soundtrack, this being the first of huge duets from these two. When I first saw it, this was originally my favourite song from it, but for some reason as the years have passed others have overtaken. Still great though. Whenever this comes on at parties or discos, much like all the other Grease songs, the whole crowd gets buzzing.

839. Lenny Kravitz – Are You Gonna Go My Way? 1990
One of the best riffs ever now with Mr Kravitz, with one of his more early hits, but probably his most well known. When I hear the intro to this song I cant help but air guitar.

838. David Bowie – Man Who Sold The World 1970
Another classic early Bowie moment now with this great little indie rock song which will be covered by acts as diverse as Nirvana & Lulu!

837. Aqua – Cartoon Heroes 2000
Guilty Pleasure Alert! This should actually carry a few woos as there are lots of people that agree that this is a great song! I have to say though that I absolutely hate Aqua with such shite songs such as ‘Barbie Girl’ and ‘Doctor Jones’ but this one, despite being of the same ilk, was somewhat different, with a good tune. What europop should be. Plus Lene Nystrom is very fit.

836. Beatles – Norwegian Wood 1965
More classic Beatles now from the ‘Rubber Soul’ album. This was when they started turning all psychedelic and well, clever! One of the most recognisable tunes by them.

835. Fugees – Killing Me Softly 1996
Now, ive never been a fan of the Fugees, or any of them as solo artists at all. But I can’t help but love this cover of the Roberta Flack classic. The vocals from Lauryn Hill are brilliant, with simple but affective rapping on top. But I have to say, whenever I hear them perform it live I can’t stand it – too many ‘Yo Yo’s’ and other such rap sayings.

834. Sugababes – Freak Like Me 2002
Final entry for the babes now with this brilliant comeback number one. And why do I love it so much? Do you have to ask? When I first heard this I was overjoyed. Originally a bootleg of Adina Howards’ original with, of course, Gary Numan’s ‘Are Friends Electric’, Richard X got in contact with them and did their own version. Not only did it save the girls career, but it brought Gary’s back too.

833. Queen – Save Me 1980
Another nugget of great music from Queen now with this little rock ballad. Its only just occurred to me that it’s a really good song, and not just a Greatest Hits filler track.

832. Village People – YMCA 1979
Another guilty pleasure with this ultimate gay anthem. Theres a bit of history with this track, as believe it or not, as one of the few straight guys on UKMIX, I once was a village person! At a Cubs music festival thing, me and some other peformed YMCA in front of hundreds of people, with me being the cowboy. Great. That aside, it really is a great song, you have to admit.

831. Gary Numan – London Times 1987
Right then, here the master starts off his campaign. This is the first of a massive 18 songs for him, this one being a rare happy sounding song compared to his other usually darker variety. Not sure what its about (like most of his to be honest) but it’s a generally good song. And like most of his, I’m not expecting you lot to know it!

830. Dizzee Rascal – Fix Up Look Sharp 2003
Now let me get it straight that I really hate DR, I think hes a dick head that’s very overhyped. But this song is just so good I cant help but like it. A lot of you probably hate it, but I just love the hard hitting beat that goes throughout, and his rapping isnt that annoying in this one compared to other ones.

829. Andrew WK – Party Hard 2001
Slight guilty pleasure because it seems a lot of people think this is rubbish. But I cant help but love this brilliantly head banging rock song. You cant get much harder than this as the title suggests – I cant help but shout along and stomp my feet when its on.

828. Nickelback – How You Remind Me 2001
Matthew was shocked when he found out that this was so low, but for me, although it’s a real classic and brilliant rock song, its not the best ever, and very overplayed. Still class though, and when it first came out I was mental about it.

827. Electric Soft Parade – Silent To The Dark Part 2 2001
Now for a real classic, that is sadly forgotten due to a poor chart placing which was shocking. It is a truly brilliant tune that got a bit of airplay but sadly not enough to be mainstream. Oh well, I love it hehe.

826. Oasis – Little By Little 2002
Now for one of surprisingly not many Oasis songs, and one of their more recent. I have to say, of their latest album, this was the only really good one. Nothing totally different from them, but it just had a great tune and brilliant video with mini Robert Carlysle.

825. Andreas Johnson – Glorious 2001
Another slightly forgotten gem from one hit wonder Andreas. A generally brilliant song that was one of my favourites of that year.

824. De La Soul – Magic Number 1989
The kings of old school hip hop now with the brilliant and funny song about the number three, used annoyingly now by BBC Three. The other version by Embrace using the same tune but about the number mathematically (Matthew can give you the whole lyrics hehe) just fails to make the chart.

823. Madonna – Take A Bow 1994
Another Madonna song now with this brilliant ballad from the early 90s. Was actually the first Madonna song I knew when I heard it back then would you believe, and is still one of my favourites.

822. Spin Doctors – Two Princes 1991
Now for a bit of classic early 90s pop/rock. It has one of the most famous and popular choruses ever quite possibly – one of the big radio giants I’m sure. One of my early favourites too.

821. Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out 2004
Its very recent I know, but you have to admit, its already a classic brit rock song – and possibly the best rock song this year, definitely so far. I just love the way it starts off, then slows right down, then joins the main riff. And the riff is fantastic. Great stuff. (Some of you will get the picture).
