Do you know when first Gold discs appear Down Under ?

From 1 January 1989 the Gold and Platinum achievement levels have been a consistent 35,000 and 70,000 respectively for both singles and albums. Up to that date, the singles level was set at 50,000 and 100,000 for Gold and Platinum respectively. The level for albums has not changed over the period. Although not officially recognised with awards, multi-platinum achievements are noted on the ARIA charts and as such have been included.

The first Gold discs would be in 1986.
