Collateral

One of the most slow-paced "adventures" of all time. The critics had said "you'll be on the edge of your seat", only to leave early more like. The ending however was brilliant. That saved the movie, the whole "twist". Tom Cruise should play more villainous roles, oh, and he fights like a girl in this film. Jamie Foxx was good as usual. Overall I'd give this film a 5/10.

The Grudge
Oh...my...god! It was so dumb that it was actually fun to watch (although it did get tiresome in the middle). First of all, the film is messed up! There are bad guys all over the place, and twists that don't add up. I was sitting there throughout the entire movie laughing my ass off. It was just a very random movie. God knows what persuaded Sarah Michelle Gellar or Clea DuVall or even Bill Pullman to take on this film. It was so dumb! -3/10

Adventures Of A Plumber's Mate

Sex, countless flashing of womens boobs from the 1970's the great days before PC came and runined everything. It Would'nt ever apear on a critics list or get a Bafa. But a good laugh all in all.

The last movie I watched was 'A brief encounter' 1945 british film that I watched for a lecture this morning, I didn't really rate it that much, some was good but it was very slow. I suppose its quitisentially (sp) british and that tends to annoy me, but that was the point of the lecture so I can hardly say I wasn't expecting it.

The Grudge was so bad! I was laughing at some parts of it!

Meet The Fockers was very unimpressive

White Noise was pretty good though, even if it is like half the films out there

Saw Hide And Seek last week. It was OK. I guessed the ending less than half-way through and it saddens me to see Robert DeNiro in a role like in this movie, but there were a few genuine jump moments and one things for sure: Dakota Fanning is brilliant.

Fahrenheit 9/11 - Quite interesting but it makes you wonder what goes on inside the American's heads if they voted Bush in for another term! :-?

American History X

One of my favourite movies of all time. Very depressing but still very excellent. Ed Norton does such a good job playing his character.

Oh and since when was there a Cruel Intentions 3?

The first one was absolutely brilliant but the second one was a pile of horse manure, and now they've made a third?

Hey, yesterday I watched 'the man in the white suit' its a 1951 Ealing comedy that I am gonna write about for my coursework. Alec Guiness is very good and the comedy is more subtle than some ealing but still esentially british. I will have much to write about on this one!

Bride & Prejudice

Saw this at the movies last night after having a crap day and well, I'm a sucker for romantic comedies (ok, not so many laughs in this, but that didn't bother me - the guy who played the dad in Bend It Like Beckham does the same thing here & most of the younger main characters, in particular Aishwarya Rai [Lalita] are good looking)....if you've watched at least 1 Bollywood movie in your lifetime (which I have - well, most of it, but I'm still dying to know the ending of that one), you'll understand the big song & dance parts in the movie & if you've read/watched Pride & Prejudice (watched it), then throw what you know about it out of the window, even if you're a big fan of the novel/TV series (despite this being a loosely based version). All in all, it was worth my $14.50.

Bridget Jones 2 : Edge of Reason

Surprisingly good - I think I enjoyed it more than No.1, particularly the fight scene!

Wimbledon

I liked it - an interesting setting for a rom com - both Kirsten and Paul really good.

Saved

A bit Mean Girls but in a christian setting - weird, but not bad.

Adam, this is NOTHING like 'Mean Girls'! It was so damn boring if anything. It had its funny moments but it just put me straight to bed! I was falling asleep during the middle, and woke up at the end. Don't think I'll bother finding out what even happened! It was too slow and boring for me.

It was OK, but I nearly cied from laughter at Mandy Moore's bit where she screams "I am filled with Christ's love!!!"

In the last couple of days I've watched:

Beloved, with Oprah, Danny Glover, Kimberly Elise and Thandie Newtown. Amazing movie. Drama set in white supremist-era Ohio in the 1860's, with a slight mystery feel to it. Brilliant performances.

Ghosts of Mississippi, starring Alec Baldwin as a lawyer who takes on the case of Myrlie Evers (Whoopi Goldberg)'s deceased husband, Civil Rights acitivist Edgar Evers who was gunned down by a racist man (played eerily by James Woods). It's based on a true story and is a well-directed (Rob Reiner) piece with incredibly moving performances from Goldberg, Baldwin and Woods.

Basic Instinct. Heard of this movie for years but only recently watched it. Awesome erotically-charged thriller. Props to Sharon Stone for that interrogation scene. Makes me wanna join the police force, or something.

The Shrink Is In is a screwball comedy about phobia-phobic neutoric Samantha (Courteney Cox, in a role not at all dissimilar to Monica Gellar) who, takes on her therapists patients after the therapist has a meltdown. Very, very funny. She should do more solo comedy.

Oh I remember stumbbling across this once when I was flipping through the movie channels. It was a lot better than I first anticipated. But yes - her character did have a very "Monica" vibe about her.

Yeah, I know what you mean - I saw the trailer for this and really wanted to see it, but after I saw it I thought it was a bit of a disappointment.

Bridget Jones Diary
I never wanted to see this as I thought it looked way too girly for my taste - but it was the girlfriends choice of movie to watch this weekend so we watched this.

I must admit it was really good - really funny and not as much of a 'chick flick' as I thought - ill have to watch the Edge of Reason now!
