I bet it's true about a re-release later this year.tada wrote:16x Pl here we go!![]()
LOL. You mean to make it 1st in the all-time UK list rather than 4th?marcsgirl85 wrote:I hope it's true about the re release it'll help sales
Does anyone know how many re-releases of the Top 4 have occurred? Adele will pass them all with or without the re-release but would be cool if she did it without the aid of a re-release.NorfolkScot wrote:I bet it's true about a re-release later this year.tada wrote:16x Pl here we go!![]()
I'm not sure about re-releases as such, but certainly part of Queen's Greatest Hits sales come from the Platinum Collection (their 3 Greatest Hits collections in one package). Sgt Pepper has been re-released for a 25th anniversary edition. Abba Gold, I'm not sure has ever been re-released as such, but it received boosts when the Mamma Mia musical (1999) and film (2008) came out.MoonNova wrote:Does anyone know how many re-releases of the Top 4 have occurred? Didn't know if the Top 4 are all original or if they achieved their status by 3-4 releases?
Agree, I don't want to see it get to the top spot in this manner.thebigham wrote:An Adele re-release would be cheating.

Smart deluxe edition, i mean worthy release....fans would love it!
Queen's Greatest Hits has many of its sales derived from The Platinum Collection. (which reached No 2 in the UK chart)thebigham wrote:That was then, this is now.
A 25th Anniversary edition is not cheating.
Sales gained from a move and a musical is not cheating.
Though I world've preferred if Adele directly said at the beginning of the era (even before the album was ou) that there was a deluxe edition/re-release. This way, casual buyers wouldn't care (as they only wanted 21 no matter in which format), but fans or people who care a lot about music (I wouldn't call myself a fan of hers) would've waited with a buy and just did it after the 2nd release is out to have it all on one album.tada wrote:totally agree! If the re-release is worth releasing, if i ain't trash to milk money...if it spawns awesome bonuses, new songs, luxury packaging...i would love to buy it!
Thanks for the clarification on this - I knew it had been re-issued with a DVD at some point. IMHO, irrespective of whether the CD has the same songs on it, this is a different package to the original Abba Gold. Yet, its sales are still counted alongside those of the original Gold.zeus555 wrote:'Gold' by ABBA, was reissued, with a DVD added, in
both 2004, & 2010. It is regarded as the same Album
as the 1992 'Gold', because the DVD & the CD were
the same 19 Tracks. Indeed, the 2004 DVD had 18 Tracks,
as 'The Name Of The Game' was not on the DVD, even
though it is on the CD.
However, at no time has 'Gold' had any extra Songs
added in the UK. It has always been based on the same
19 ABBA Songs.
She should have just released TFM to begin with. It's a more complete album.zeus555 wrote: You can actually add a CD, with as many as 8 New
Tracks, if you like, & it is still counted as the same
Album, under OCC Chart Rules. That is what happened
with 'The Fame,' in late 2009. It had a 2nd CD added
with 8 New Lady GaGa Songs, & it was called
'The Fame Monster'. The OCC have added its Sales
to those of 'The Fame', which is why you have
never seen 'The Fame Monster' Charting on its own,
in the UK. (In some Countries, 'The Fame Monster'
was regarded as a 2nd Album, by Lady GaGa, & they
let it Chart on its own).
