I think they make a lot of money with her boutique too.. I'm not sure what the deal with Caesar's Palace is, but they pay not only for the show, people going there to see her spend more money in other things, knowing Rene I'm sure they get well paid haha

She's paid a fixed amount of money + bonuses + a cut of money from the boutique sales - she actually potentially pockets upwards of $3m in a week of 5 shows.

This is more lucrative for her than a world tour would be for 99% of the majority of the world's top recording artists.

For the 3 years journey in Vegas she'll amount between 220-250 mil in ticket sales: she'll be lucky if only half of that will finish in her pocket: and that's after 3 long years.

And? This is how she chooses to play out her career - she has NO expenses and her selling power will never diminish in Las Vegas, as she's not touring, she simply is choosing to remain in one place. It makes perfect business sense - the first stint pocketed her over $250m and the second stint will pocket her over $100m EASY - if that isn't perfect business, I don't know what is.

When she finally chooses to tour again, I'm sure she will smash records like last time! 8-)

You said if she return touring she'd have no problem smashing like she did the last time: so how can you call it a perfect buiseness when she have to spend 3 years to achieve less of the gross she got with her last proper WW tour??

its really easy pocket money Denise, basically Celine just has to stand there, don't have to care about the production and everything, lip her songs through and she gets about 600k upwards per show. She's also given a residence there 8-)

Her last tour grossed $280m in about eight months worth of touring.

She has said that it's convenience for her to stick with Vegas - marginally, I can't think of an act that has a better deal than Celine in Vegas.

I also think that she wouldn't get away with the amount of lipping she does in Vegas, on the road.

Money isn't the only thing in her mind. She has a family, a 70-year-old husband, a 2-year-old twins and a 11-year-old boy.

She will give 70 concerts per year in Las Vegas in the next years and gross 50 million dolars/year. But i'm sure she will start giving concerts in other countries and cities like Elton John does.

She was paid 1.5 million dolars to give a concert in Jamaica this year. I think it was the beginning... :)

I remember to read a few months ago that she gets 80%, Aeg Live 10% and Caesars Palace 10%. But then she has to pay to her team.

In exchange for five shows a week, 40 weeks a year, Dion will get a reported $100 million plus 50% of the profits.

The first 600 concerts / first 3 years grossed 325 million dolars. $100M + 50% = 263 million dolars (= 80% of 325 million). :)

That takes the current Vegas run to over $56m, over 323,000 spectators, and some 80/80 sell out shows!

She is an undisputed master of touring/live performing when it comes to money.

Which equals at 700.000 dollars (more or less) per show, very good.

+ why there is NOT a specific thread for the Vegas show? :-?

$700.000 with only 4.100 people, $170 average tickets, I think is pretty good

I never really thought about that, I suppose a new thread could be created to chart the entire history of this record-shattering show! Would definitely be worth it.

The show will get 80 mil per year when all will be said and done: again, very good but far from shattering any remarkable record if you ask me.
