Her fansite reads:

http://www.missyelliottweb.com/

Oooh! That'd be wonderful if they were actually workming together again! I can't wait!
According to some sources... Missy's in the studio alongside with Timbaland to record her new album. It has also been said that Tweet and Fantasia (Missy recorded with both for their new albums to) will be on it.

There are also rumours that Timbaland is working on a new collaberation album and ofcourse Missy Elliott will be recording a track with him.

Missyelliotweb again reports:

Another rumoured title was revealed of Missy's new album, called 'Careless Whispers' also. Also, sources close by Missy's camp are saying that Missy is listening to her fans and will involve Timbaland a lot more in her new album as she didn't on her last studio album 'The Cookbook' so we can expect an incredible album with Timbo's incredible beats!
Missy is in the studio working on a new album, reuniting with Timbaland, as well as working with producers Rich Harrison, Scott Storch, Neptunes & Bangladesh (who four whom were on Missy's last installment)and Polow Da Don, producer of "DJ Play A Love Song" by Jamie Foxx & Twista, "Pimpin' All Over The World" by Ludacris, Fergie's "London Bridge" and Ciara's "Promise"

With her latest involvements with Fantasia and Monica's latest releases, M is prepping a big year in '07, methinks....I wonder if she'll be featured on Timbaland's latest disc (rumor has it she will; see missyelliotweb.com for info.).

Per SOHH:

Timbo's new disc includes collabos for Missy.

The highly anticipated disc is rumored to boast guest appearances from artists including Bjork, Missy Elliot, and G-Unit boss 50 Cent among others.
She's also reputed to be collaboing with him again on her new album...sounds hawt!

ZZZZZZZZZZ, unless she can come up with something as awesome as her first four albums (the first two, especially!), I'm far from excited with a new Missy album. She went from original and creative, to just plain annoying.

Missy's hard at work on her new disc.

Per Vibe:

"Let It Go" is Missy Elliott's second feature in two years, with only Busta Rhymes' "Touch It" remix between this and her 2005 album, The Cookbook. So just where has Ms. Misdemeanor been? "I been workin' on my album. I should have a single out by the end of August," says Elliott. She is reluctant to give away details, but she does offer, "I don’t think it's gonna be any different from what I do. I just try to give the unexpected. As different as it gets right now, I would wanna do a record with Amy Winehouse, but I don't have her yet. When I go to the clubs lately I notice a lot of the music is real slow tempo. My main thing is to get the girls dancing, cause once you get the girls dancing the guys will always follow. When I go in the clubs now, the records are so hard it's like even the girls are like, [barks] 'THROW YA HANDS UP!' People ain't really havin fun with it no more, so that's my main thing - trying to get people back in the club."

"Throw Ya Hands Up!", "get people back in the club". Yeah, by probably being her annoying self, like she has for the last four years  How is that any different to anything she's brought out in recent times? She hasn't released an exceptional album in five years. I used to love Missy. I was always so eager for a new release, but ever since her weight loss (not saying that she shouldn't have), she talks more about sex in a trashy way. At least before it was in a more subtle and fun way. Her raps have become lame, in general.

I fear what affect she might have on Amy Winehouse on the record, if it happens. Bring back the Missy of the old: unpredictable and exciting!!

Missy Elliott Watch posted an MTV interview Timbaland did with Sway. He talks...

Sway of MTV News: [says something about Aaliyah's death affecting his career]

Timbaland: And I think that's when my career kind of went like a downhill. You know, It was cool-- "Work It"-- Missy doing her thing. It just... I feel like it separated all of us. We just lost our tightness as a whole. I'm not ashamed to admit it, ashamed to say it on tape. I'm trying to figure out a way how to bring it back. Like Missy's doing another album; I gotta work on it. She needs me just as well as I need her. But I just need Missy to understand that we gotta have fun. Like, we can't, if she sells, we gotta forget about record sales. We can never sell another record again, the point is to think that we reunited and worked together again.

Sway: Who challenges you? Who says “Tim, that beat ain’t it”?

Timbaland: Missy. That damn Missy. It got to the point where, you know, she’s always trying to push me and I’m like I’ll do 100 beats, she’ll probably pick 2 out of a 100. And I’ll play 100 beats for somebody else and they’ll pick at least 75. Why you just hear two? See, she’s too much of a critic and I think it caught up with her on the last album. I was doing other things and it’s like—Missy, you over think. Music is not that serious. If you ain’t having that fun with it, it ain’t gone work.

That's a really interesting article, I always wondered why she & Timbaland had stopped working together so much, and I like seeing a perspective on why Missy isn't what she used to be.

One word: overkill. He should go away for a few years and then come back and we wouldn't be bored of him.

That goes for Beyonce too

Yeah I agree, dont et me wrong some of his beats are still fresh and soo different but when he's got like four tracks he's produced in the charts at the same time it becomes less unique and original

Here's a bit more.

http://concreteloop.com/2006/07/timbala ... sys-biopic

The planned biopic of Missy Elliott has been dealt a severe blow after her close friend and collaborator Timbaland refused to be included in the project. The hip-hop/R&B producer, who is the creative driving force behind Elliott’s biggest hits, is convinced he would be misrepresented if he allows script writers to dramatise his relationship with the “Get Ur Freak On” rapper.
He says, “I don’t want to be in the movie. For me that movie is all about her. You couldn’t make that movie and put my side of the story in it too. Missy’s life… It’s deeper than a rap story, there’s a lot of parts. I don’t think it’d work if you start putting other people’s stories in too.”
However, Tim later said:

http://www.wwe.com/inside/superstartosu ... dtimbaland

Timbaland: My most trusted friend in the industry, I have to say, is Missy Elliott because we started from day one. She’s been with me from day one, starting the whole thing. I’ve watched her grow, watched her growing pains. She’s been like my sister in the whole business. After that [Missy], I would have to say Justin [Timberlake].

Anymore news on this?

Been listening to The Cookbook again, and FINALLY, after 2 years, I f'ing LOVE IT!! Best track is My Struggle, with Mary J Blige. It samples one of really old-skool tracks from her debut album. It should have been a single.

Yup. :D Missy's manager confirmed it's called "The Countdown."

http://blackvoices.aol.com/blogs/2007/0 ... op-honors/

Scott, one of the most hands on superstar talent managers, revealed that Elliott's latest disc -- her sixth studio album, tentatively titled 'The Countdown' -- is due out in a few months. A new single should drop at radio next month.

I can see a song being called "countdown" being about a dance.

Missy Elliot has been a mess for a good few years now.

Her albums have been horrendoues as of late. And she has always been quite patchy with her albums. But at least the earlier stuff was more trend setting, creative and progressive.

I dont see how she would pick 2 out of 100 beats when her last few albums have been a mess.. with mediocare songs filling out the whole thing.

She is, and will be only a singles artist for me. Until she can come up with something to rival Lil Kim, M.I.A or L-Boogie.

I have to say I disagree... I'm the biggest critic of missy these days but thats only because I know what shes capable of. What missy did with her 1st two albums not many other female mc's have done and in the case of M.I.A its obvious she made it ok for those who followed to be different and not follow the pack. Even if Missy never makes a good album again she'l still be regarded as one of the best imo based on the 1st two now classic albums
