A bit late to the party, but I'm glad France got through. Wales will kick their butts though.

As for the Trans-Tasman clash...I think I'll be biting my nails through this one. NZ can't take a trick regarding their #10's (is it just me or does Aaron Cruden look a bit like Chris Lilley facially?) and I know we have a few injury concerns too. Not even going to predict a score. It'll be a close one. Hope we win of course, but if NZ manage to, I won't be bitter, but I'll hear the celebrations from across the ditch

I don't!

I want a Wales-NZ final. (Just like your scores predicted above, though I think both games will be far, far closer than the scorelines you've shown!!)

My predicts and my wishes are difference.
My wishes: Wales is winner of World Cup. Australia is better opponent in final for Dragons. New Zealand can destroy Wales team, if final would be NZ-Wales. If Aussies win in game against Kiwi, than Wales would be have a little chances (10-15%) for win in final. France is a weakest team in Top 4. 4 place would be honest award for their game.

30 minutes into the game and the score is 3-3! Could they make this any more nerve wracking?

Come on Wales!! Make that final! :D

Awww no :(

France beat Wales BY ONE POINT :( 9-8.

Wales, you did so well! Hopefully they can win the third place playoff and gain third place!

So it's either France vs Aussie or France vs NZ!

EDIT:

I'm astounded by the support for Wales! They're interviewing the French coach and they're booing them lol.

So... so... close!

I think everyone here really felt the Welsh could win, right up to the bitter end, but alas it wasn't to be.

Of course the really frustrating thing is that the man who had up until now been remembered for being an absolutely inspirational captain, and spurring the team on to fantastic things...

...will now be remembered for picking up a Frenchman by the legs and throwing him to the ground! :o Sorry, but what on EARTH did he think he was doing?

Had it not been for that... or one or two rather surprisingly missed kicks... we'd be in the final.

Sorry, for my emotions.
Big pain in my heart: Wales - France 8:9
Wales was more unlucky, than Scotland in last 2 matches. I'm not a coach of Welsh Team, but 'TRY' is best thing in Rugby. That penalty attempts were silly.

Good game of Wales and I don't saw France on the field. I can't believe in my next words, but France team was more annoying, than standart game of Argentina.

So, for me World Cup is over. Welsh team would be fourth and welcome in 2015 year.

What a frustrating game! Why do France always manage to stumble through somehow?

Very tough luck to Wales - though they left 11 points on the field, and Stephen Jones didn't appear to want to step forward and take the responsibility of taking a drop kick at the death when he should have.

So, so unlucky though that Wales won't be lining out for their first ever World Cup final next weekend.

Wales are in the playoff for third place, Alex! They could ultimately come third instead of fourth! I hope they do, but it depends on who they face.

But yeah I agree, France did nothing in that match, they made Wales play and practically did nothing to win.

That moment when Wales scored and it came up to 9-8 was so amazing, the crowd went mental (I saw the last quarter of the match) :D

Aussie/NZ tonight. Never thought I'd say this but go Aussie

I'm soooo nervous for today!!!
I'm already down at the waterfront. Crowds are already gathering everywhere. Just having ice cream in the sun... then probably head to one of the pubs early.

Sooooo.... nervous. :-?

All answers here:
History of rugby union matches:
Australia - Wales
Last 10 games:
Australia: 7 wins + 1 draw, Wales: 2 wins + 1 draw
All Wales wins were in Cardiff, but Wales won 22:21 in Third place playoff of 1987 Rugby World Cup (Rotorua, New Zealand)

New Zealand - Wales
Last 10 games:
New Zealand: 10 wins + last win of Wales was in 1953 year. All Blacks win 24 games in row after all.

I give 10-15% for win of Wales against Australia and 0% for win of Wales against New Zealand.

Can't believe France won last night. Ok, so Sam Warburton wasn't smart in doing that tackle, however, as some of our commentators noted, he probably should've just got a yellow card for that instead of being sent off. Alain Rolland must've panicked in the head of the moment...still, not a smart move really. Combine that with some poor kicking for goal from the Welsh side and you have France somehow going to on to live another day. They'll get their butts kicked in the final though...surely!

Shrimpy, if you're feeling nervous, then I think I am too. I just hope the rugby gods are on our side (there is a stat out there to suggest that we've never lost to NZ in a RWC game/final of some sort) - however, if you do get through, then I'll be supporting the AB's wholeheartedly, even if all of NZ has been hating on us throughout the tournament. As I've often mentioned, I likes you Kiwis and although it's fun to beat you guys in sport, it's not half as great as when we beat the US or the Poms, as former Wallaby Peter FitzSimons mentioned in the paper yesterday.

Fair Enough!

I have to say, when ever our countries play against each other. Its a dam good battle to watch!

P.S. Ive already met/talked too dozens of Aussies here at the Auckland waterfront and each time its been a hand shake of "Good Luck mate, may the better team win"

So there no hate! more... mutual distaste mixed with patriotic passion! :D :)

^ What my compatriot said.

We played terribly and our Kiwi cuzzies had the answers every single time. I think Quade Cooper has shown himself to be a rather overrated player - like me, he falters under pressure and I think the moment got to him yet again. I think this tournament may have put a prick in the balloon for him. Kinda felt like deporting him back to NZ after that effort. Still, there are a few promising signs from our camp, but consistency is and has been for a long time our Achilles heel.

I eagerly await Megan's comments about the match...or maybe she'll steer clear now that the AB's are in the final.

All I can say is, go the All Blacks! I'll be cheering them on, even if they beat us - as far as I'm concerned, France have done sweet FA to get here and don't really deserve to win. Hell, the Today show in Australia is calling Friday "Hug A Kiwi Day"!
