History of the "The Combined Germany Album Chart"

From now on I'll post the combined germany album chart week by week in this topic.

From the beginning in July 1962 till the end of 1976 the official german Album-Charts was a combined chart, publishing by magazine Musikmarkt. In January 1977 Musikmarkt began to publishing a list without compilations and albums, that were broadcast in TV commercials.

In september 1977 media control began to find out the charts. That was a comeback for the combined chart as the official one.
But in september 1978, when media control starts with a weekly chart, we get an album chart without compilations again. Till december 1979 not any positions of the compilations in a combined chart was published. So nobody knows these.

But in january 1980 everything changed....so the first combined chart can be published with the date of 7th january 1980...till today.....
