Not really unpopular but I think it's a shame Madonna's music isn't as meaningful as it used to be. Don't get me wrong, the music is still great but she doesn't stand out to me anymore.

Yeah not unpopular at all I think haha. I wish she could still make music that set trends instead of following them and better age-appropriate lyrics..

Madonna still writes deep lyrics, for example in I Don't Give A (from MDNA) she deals with everyday life problems like not having time for a manicure, connecting to the wi-fi, forgetting the password, etc... these are the problems that afflict our generation and Madonna speaks for the people!

I hate watching music videos. I love lots of music videos but I only watch them maybe once or twice and then I won't watch them for months again. I rather watch live performances of the song(s). For example, I haven't watched P!nk's new video yet, yet she's my second favorite artist.

Not sure if it's unpopular, but i definitely agree, Blow Me is even worse than Raise Your Glass. RYG was so forgettable and generic.

^ :o Raise Your Glass is already a classic IMO, when I heard it in the end of 'New Year's Eve' I couldn't stand still and I was at an airplane!

I prefer more of Madonna's albums to Janet's. I still await more Black Cat style Janet.

I also can't understand some fans looking their idol's music videos dozens of times, I mean once I've seen them a couple of times I know them, so why watch them again? Maybe in ten years or something when I really don't remember what they were about again...

all i can say towards the Madonna/Janet discussion here is.. that I like more songs by Madonna than by Janet although Janet is a huge force in my music world. I wouldn't have been the person I am today with one of them missing.

so in the end i say

Madonna > Janet

such a comparison makes me go borderline.
