I have a total bet running of over 20 euro's for the qualifiers on wednesday. I hope to win at least one bet! If I win them all I have over 700 euro.

I just hope I win my bets back that's enough and realistic...

I am so happy we got through.

When England didn't qualify for Euro 2008, it was such a boring summer!

I think the Brazil game will be very interesting. That will prove to us whether the boys are up to it or not.

One thing for sure, Fabio Capello is a brilliant coach. Although he's really scary looking, it's obvious that he's having a good effect on the team!

Some classic countries might not be there. Including, Argentina, France and even Germany.

Without them, the world cup won't be the same.

So Portugal isn't a classic country?

Totaly agree, without those countries it won't be the same at all. Can we imagine a "World Cup" with all best players of the world missing (Messi, Ronaldo, Ribery among others)? :-?

Hello Gui,

Sorry, but isn't Portugal about to get in?. If not, my apologies, but I wouldn't have forgotten about it. :o Is there any site where I can read thse stats?.

Portugal ended up at #4 last time, so it would be weird if they don't make it. Kind of Netherlands in 1998 and 2002, being #4 in the former and without managing the following world cup.

Actualy, their situation is much worst than the ones of Germany and France.

You can see here rankings of the European zone. The first of each group is qualified, the 8 best seconds of each group will face each other, 4 of them getting qualified.

Portugal have already no chance of ending first. Their chances to get into the 8 seconds are very limited as well. Next round will see Denmark against Sweden, if Sweden win it, Portugal will be basicaly dead. They can barely win their last 2 games praying for Sweden to loose 3 points to hope a qualification... for the Play-off. They really need a miracle to be on World Cup 2010.

Thank you. You are right. Then I guess that Argentina and Portugal are the two ones with little chances of being there.

Have you seen the South American list?.

I can't explain how nervous I feel. :(

Argentina and Portugal got a great night. Argentina won over Peru with 3 out of 4 of his contenders for qualifying positions losing their game (Ecuador, Venezuela and Colombia). A penalty of Forlan in the very last minute yet gave 3 points to Uruguay making them being at 5 on South American group, Argentina at 4, only the first 4 teams are qualified. Portugal won 3-0 against Hungary while Denmark defeated Sweden, which means Portugal are now second ahead of Sweden, with only a game with Malta remaining.

Both teams, Portugal and Argentina, can possibly be qualified without depending on others. Portugal will have to play a play off yet.

Italy, Germany, Chile and Serbia are definitely qualified.
