The initial point, which is MY point. Is that it was her biggest hit in 8 years or so.preyan wrote:Back to the initial point. That Top 3 did sh!t for her sales! The artist, label and distributor and not in it for the charts! Its all about the money at the end of the day. Madonna just has a solid fanbase that will support no matter how good (or bad) her material is.
JT did nothing for Madonna's career! He did however make JJ look like an idiot!!! Hope Janet can sing a song about it... and feature Britney on itMaybe a song like "Your Mother Must Be So Proud"
Nah, she needs to fix up or go away. She's just become like Madonna, with some R&B thrown in, and less success lately...aaliyahman wrote:She needs to go nowhere.urbanmusik wrote:Ahahuha wrote:Is she still on the game?

I dont think thats how it happened she was having trouble with the label before Mariah's album was even out mainly due to conflicts with single choices. Lets not make excuses, Janets heart really wasn't in it she wanted out. And how much I liked Discipline, it was never gonna be this huge hit.AussiePopStar8 wrote:Well she won't be chucked over for a new Mimi album next time which was really inexcusable.
Under her own steam and without label constraints we'll see what kind of artist Janet wants to be.
"Discipline" was her most consistent album in years so hopefull she'll keep the momentum and do the promo she needs to do without any cancellations etc.
Looking at this tracklist it just shows how strong her catalogue is and thats not even inlcuding the earlier classics. She can make a really strong album she just has to make it consistent. I love janettopopMAC1 wrote:OT but I made my own "Design Of A Decade Part 2" covering the "Velvet Rope" to "Discipline" eras (as the first collection covered most of the early stuff):
1. All For You (radio edit)
2. Gone ‘Til It’s Gone
3. Just A Little While
4. Scream (With Michael Jackson)
5. Feedback (full length single version)
6. So Excited (Featuring Khia)
7. Every Time
8. Someone To Call My Lover (album version)
9. I Want You
10. Rock With U
11. Go Deep
12. With U
13. Son Of A Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You) [Flyte Time Remix] (Featuring Carly Simon & Missy Elliott)
14. All Nite (Don’t Stop)
15. I Get Lonely
16. Luv
17. Doesn’t Really Matter (album version with dance breakdown)
18. Call On Me (Featuring Nelly)
19. Together Again (album version)
Total length: 79:33
Flows rather well!
That collection is quite good. But remember that "Design of a Decade" only included "That's the Way Love Goes" from "janet." There are other 5 Top 10 hits from that album that were not included on her 1995 compilation. So, definitely those should be included if Virgin releases a Janet's "GHV2". Anyway, if a new compilation is released, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a career retrospective. Sometime ago I published the one I made in December 2007. Take a look.topopMAC1 wrote:OT but I made my own "Design Of A Decade Part 2" covering the "Velvet Rope" to "Discipline" eras (as the first collection covered most of the early stuff):

OK. But, who wants to listen to "With U" or "Luv" when "Again" or "Any Time, Any Place" could be in?topopMAC1 wrote:"Whoops Now" was included on the UK version too, so two singles from the "Janet" era on that one. I was going to include all the singles from that era too but they wouldn't have fitted, so decided to go with "Velvet Rope" onwards...
