Any possible Katy holds Chris Brown off top spot?

Do you know Taiwan? If not, check the map, it's in Southeastern Asia and beside mainland China, BUT YOU MUST KNOW, it doesn't belong to China!

Hits just updated their figure in the Rumor Mill. The new figure for Katy is 75K. With 75K, it would be hard to keep Chris Brown from the top spot. ... but we will see. :)

I doubt that would happen, although 75k would still be a significant result, obviously... What's up with Flo Rida and his sales, his last album barely managed to crawl over 60k total sales, now he looks like he is on his way for a similar opening week (or at least hitting 40)... He always has the horrible, but hugely successful single to back it up, but never sells accordingly..

It also mentions that she is #2 so Chris Brown is #1 I guess.
PERRY, PERRY GOOD: Last week provided plenty of fireworks for Capitol/EMI pop diva Katy Perry. Her 3-D concert movie, Part of Me, landed in the Top 10 in weekend box office gross, earning $11 million over the holiday in 2,730 theaters. And with a new single, “Wide Awake,” sitting atop the iTunes singles chart, Perry’s Teenage Dream album will climb to #2 on tomorrow’s HITS Album tally, tacking another 75k to a total now at 2.3 million, buoyed by last week’s 99 cent AmazonMP3.com sale. Who needs Russell Brand anyway? (7/9p)

His album already reached the top 10 in Ireland and the UK, Australia and NZ... So I'm really surprised, too... I guess he makes it the LMFAO/Pitbull-way: Really successful singles and the album goes Gold or at the most Platinum. He can slightly sell (what is a Gold album compared to multiple Platinum singles?) if it's like the perfect situation and everything is right, other artists can decently sell albums once they have a flop single but once Flo Rida has one, he could have another "successful" album like his last one if you know what I mean  ...

As much as i hate Fortune, never compare Chris Brown to such loosers and extremly annoying generic crap artists like Pitbull or Flo Rida.

Well if it's Flo Rida... You surely can compare Pitbull/LMFAO to him :PPP.

Well i suppose that Teenage Dream will outsell Born This Way soon with this discount boost.

HITS:

A SECOND CONSECUTIVE BROWN-OUT ON THE CHARTS

Zac Brown Band Looking at Big Opening, Frank Ocean Storms Out on iTunes

July 11, 2012

We know it’s hot out, but two Brown-outs in a row on the HITS Top 50 Album sales chart?

Following up RCA R&B bruiser Chris Brown’s #1 debut yesterday, look for a very different act with the same name—Atlantic country-rockers Zac Brown Band’s Uncaged—to bow in the top spot on next week’s tally, with a total that looks headed for between 210-225k.

That number beats the group’s last studio album, You Get What You Give, which came out in Sept. 2010 with 154k in sales, by more than 45%. This is the band’s third album for Atlantic after two independent releases.

The week’s big story is controversial Def Jam/IDJ R&B hyphenate Frank Ocean, a member of the L.A.-based hip-hop collective Odd Future, who will open with a very impressive 110-125k as an iTunes exclusive for his major label bow, Channel, Orange. Ocean surprised everyone by Tweeting the album would be made available after his network TV debut Monday night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon singing “Bad Religion” from the release. With an appearance on Jay Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne album—that’s him introducing the disc’s “No Church in the Wild”—as well as a best-selling mixtape, Nostalgia, Ultra, Ocean is burning up the blogosphere.

Ocean’s tour begins in Seattle this Friday (7/13) and hits L.A. Wiltern next Tuesday (7/17) in what is sure to be the show of the year.

WOW @ Zac Brown Band estimated to sell 210k+ in their first week.
I expected half considering their last album debuted with 150k as being the follow-up to an album that isn't far from that 3 mio. mark...

I'm sure the longevity of the 2nd album (still in the top 100 22 months after the release) and the singles success (4 top 40 hits, among them a top 20 hit - all 5 singles reached either No. 1 or 2 on the country chart) helped them.

It's so great that they manage to sell despite them doing real music (which is often unjustly underrated and is in the shadows of so-called "trendy" music)...
