"Starry Eyed" is to be Ellie Goulding's second single (full scale debut) on 22nd February 2010 according to DigitalSpy!

The new single, 'Starry Eyed', seems rather more positive. What's it about?

"It's about letting go. As opposed to all the sad and depressing things I write about, I decided to write something about the joining together of people in some kind of euphoric state - be it at a festival, at a show or in a club. I wanted a song that would reach out to people of every background and every enjoyment, whether you enjoy a natural high, taking drugs, drinking or whatever. Because I'm essentially a pop artist I wanted to write a song that everyone can relate to."
Here is "Starry Eyed" on YouTube:

You can also hear it on her official site:

Any thoughts?

I was about to make a thread about this! :)
Anyway, been listening to this since last week! The Jakwob remix is awesome too!

I'm expecting this to do well in the charts!

Gorgeous. Wouldn't say it was her most commercial song. It's more chillout album material.

Just listened to this in full for the first time. If this is a hit than she's going to be the most overplayed artist of the year

I really hope not, her voice is awful.

:-? Boots at least has a pleasant voice & she doesn't peddle this kind of urban-esque stuff.

Yeah, she gets Bjork comparisons. And to be fair, Beren, i would say Marina's voice is more divisive though i love it. Ellie is great and diverse, and this is a more honest and pure song than Marina's new one.

So do Kate Bush, Bjork, Emiliana, Rickie Lee Jones and plenty of other great singers. Some people like little girl voices.

Not a fan of the final mix unfortunately, but I prepared myself for that a long time ago, and obviously, I can just stick with the demo.

For some reason I don't like this girl, but this song and Under The Sheets are brilliant.

They do sometimes. As much as any of the others i mentioned do. It's Oh So Quiet and Jungle Drum could be from children's musicals.
