I used to despise the smoothness of E=MC2 but looking back it was quite elite and lavish as was Mariah that Era! Slim, Defined, Just Married, Lighting up the Empire State :) oh I love it looking back!

I said sales people. Based on strictly album sales there is a trend.

That's the spirit 8-)

It seems Mariah's albums are following a sales trend:

Mariah Carey = Hit
Emotions = Miss
Music Box = Hit
Merry Christmas = Miss
Daydream = Hit
Butterfly = Miss
#1's = Hit
Rainbow = Miss
Glitter = Miss
Greatest Hits = Hits
Charmbracelet = Miss
TEOM = Hit
E=MC2 = Miss
MOAIA = Miss
New Album = Hit

:lol:
Dead!! I know E=Mc2 was a bit of a miss but it can't be dismissed all together it got a #1 for a single that was the last #1 :lol:
Glitter flop, charmbracelet flop, TEOM success
E=MC2 flop, MOAIA flop, New album success
:lol: :lol: :lol:

Her past albums history do have a pattern. :lol:

Yes, I agree on the "Merry Christmas" album. It's definitely not a miss. So is not "Rainbow" - it sold almost the same as "Butterfly" internationally. "Butterfly" and "Emotions" had less sales but were also huge albums.

00s Miss, miss, hit, miss, miss
10s Hit, hit, hit, hit, hit

Yeah i agree, it was exciting and it had success. The choice of bye bye was the mistake. Migrate and that era would have been huge.

Her next album will be huge. Because of her 20th anniversary in music industry soon! Will have a lot of biography or other things about her that give her extra boost and let the audience remember who she is!

It's funny cos I remember when E=MC2 most people weren't really to fond of it but now everyone is like it's in my top 5 fave albums.

:lol: I don't think we'll ever get over side effects or Migrate not being released!

Even if she does well! I bet we'll be like "Could have been Migrate, Could have been side effects" :lol:

E=MC2 was not a flop it was just considered it cuz of how huge TEOM was but it did very well considering the decline in album sales etc

I'm so excited! I want it to come out April 2011! During Winter everyone is all sad, depressed etc but once the sun starts shining everyone is in the mood to Chillout, jam, party etc to new beats! Spring is the perfect time!!

Omg! I can't watch people saying it's gonna be her best, it's gonna be huge etc etc
i think they're already jinxing it :lol:

I hope it comes out November/December 2011 to capitalize of holiday sales. I know it's too long for some people, but I'd rather she let the general audience miss her and meanwhile deliver a totally, almost no filler, flawless album like The Emancipation Of Mimi.
If you don't get on the ride, you won't experience the adventure...

I swear Mariah needs to get back in the studio with DANJA asap. We need that club banger after the dismissal of Migrate.

I am so glad Mariah is working with Jermaine Dupri again. She needs to stop working with "The Dream".

i agree. lush's hit & misses chart was wack. Merry Christmas album IS thee most successful commerical holiday album of all time. And Butterfly and Rainbow were not misses, pretty consistent sales.
see, men come a dime-a-dozen so it don't mean nuttin' to me. i aint even worried 'bout u homie cause theirs plenty more fish in the sea.

mariah's release history rather looks like this:

1990: success (9) <-- US shipments
1991: success (4)
1992: success (3)
1993: success (10)
1994: success (5)
1995: success (10)
1997: success (5)
1998: success (5)
1999: success (3)
2001: flop (1)
2001: flop (1)
2002: flop (1)
2003: flop (--)
2005: success (6)
2008: flop (1)
2009: flop (0,5)
2009: flop (--)

all her 90's releases are successful, because Mariah became the only female artist who's first 9 albums have all the least sold 3 million copies in her home country.
