UKMIXers are so talented!

Nekoo, I love the first shoot! I always want to go to Europe since I love taking shoots of old buildings and stuff like that.

marcsi, those are beautiful! I bet you used Canon, right?

Blover, looove the bird shoot! I'm pretty sure it's Blue-capped Tit or sth like that.

James's pics are UH-MAZINGGGG!

Well, in Europe it's simply called a Blue Tit. But I don't really know its "worldwide name"... It's a Cyanistes caeruleus.

I'll post a few pictures of the beautiful Faial Island (Azores), and the last will be from Pico Island (also in Azores).

nature is wonderful.

but damn how Id like to try some urban exploration photography. of course Im not remotely enough skilled to do anything like that but oh well :lol:

Im just so crazy about some amazing artistic urbex shots I see on deviantART and so jealous of those photographers.

no abi, not Canon

I used Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3. cheap camera, but really good for its price. never planned I would take as many photos with it as I do.

I think you would LOVE Prague then, I am meeting lot of people who describe Prague as walking in outside museum ... Its a great architecture mixture.

That first shot is just normal house, outside the important historical part of the town.

Some of my favourite photos I took years ago with a 3 megapixel camera. These have absolutely zero editing/special effects (apart from B&W)...

I discovered that I could create this effect by placing the subject in a glass bowl (full of water) in the kitchen sink, you set off the flash and suddenly everything (except the subject) appears in clean white.

Using that same low level camera I got this nice shot...

And on Sydney harbour...

That sounds interesting! My sister has a good camera so I'll tell her to try this when she come back home

So many great pictures. Only just discovered this thread and only looked at the pics on this page so far.

Blover: I love the bird eye view pics especially the one of the shore.
Abi: The flower pics are great and the ant one is awesome.
JimJim: The Sydney Harbour pic is stunning.

It's a Bar called "End Of the World".

You have some great pictures there abi.
My favourite are the 6th, the 7th, the 9th and the 11th. The 11th is extremely cool. I'm not the hugest fan of light graffiti but that one is just fantastic. How did you get that effect?

Nekoo, what's that last building? It's incredible.

Jim, your last shot is incredible. Everything comes together to create a classic picture!

Joel, I love the cat pic. The reflection is so mysterious it makes the shot almost magical!

marcsi Oh cool! I used to have this old type of Olympus but I always wanted to have a Canon so I decided to buy a new one lol.

nekoo, I really have to go there someday. Love the castle shot as well. The sky looks so gorgeous!

BLover, really? Thanks, I'm sure y'all could do better.

Slow down your shutter speed into a few seconds (1",2",8",etc instead of 1/10, 1/100 etc) so that it will capture all the lights movements. Make sure you don't move your camera too much because the other objects (cars, buildings, etc) will "move" as well (you may need a tripod but since I didn't have one, I had to put the camera on a plant pot on the sidewalk lol), unless you want to capture something like in the 12th pic - I took that one during the night so that the other objects didn't appear.

nekoo, your first photo is the best, beautiful castle and it could look professional without the womans head in the right lower corner. and I like your last one too.

joel, your cat photo is awesome. and some very simple editing with picasa could turn that sunset shot into a stunning pic

I was, in fact, referring to the 12th picture.
Well, I know the basics of light graffiti... But what I really wanted to know is how did you manage to have so many clear out-of-control lines :lol:

That is the fortification of the Solothurn town. I love that town so much.

that is actually my friend ... but yeah, since this is very populat place its always full there so I am happy I managed pic with only one head.
