‘Cymatika’ has a sound that’s very eclectic, but it’s very cinematic. Creating ‘Cymatika’ has been such an amazing experience because there are no creative boundaries; it isn’t genre specific at all, but it has a VERY distinctive sound.
‘Outside Your Body’ may end up being a bonus track somewhere, but it really depends what ‘Cymatika’ shapes up to be. As of now, I don’t think it really goes with the project”.
“For ‘Cymatika’, I’ve really been creating the tracks from the ground up, meaning I could wake up and have a song in my head, lay down some of it, and we start building the track from that. I know what sounds I want, and the drum patterns, and it goes from there. I always record in the pitch black.
I don’t start with a melody or words. It usually comes to me all at once, including the backgrounds and harmonies. That’s why I have the fastest engineer on the planet. We have one-syllable code words so there’s no real break. When I record a record, my feet tap the entire time because I have so much I have to get out. Once I’m in the booth, I stay inside for about 4 hours at a time without stopping. Then we break for about ten minutes to stretch and then get back to work”.
“I love ‘Higher’. That’s initially where I thought the next project would be going, since that was where things started heading at the end of ‘In Love & War’. Warryn Campbell and I were in the studio talking, and I told him the direction I was going in. I needed a dope, memorable guitar riff. Warryn actually plays the drums and the guitar, among other things, in addition to programming, so he just started playing different riffs on the guitar, and then I heard the riff and just started singing into the mic, no words written, no real thought. Just vibed and just started singing the story that was coming to mind as it came. Another record that I did with Brian Michael Cox was that way as well. It’s called ‘Mustang’ and will be on ‘Cymatika’”.

me too. I actually think we'll get a single this summer but still not sure so don't take my word for it. I'm excited too, hopefully she plans the promo perfectly this time! This album needs to be her breakthrough album!IloveAmerie wrote:Excitinng news! I am still patiently awaiting this album! I miss my Amerie!
Sorry for responding so late but I have no clue. I hope she does continue to stay with EDM but I'm not sure. Hopefully we'll get some official press release or updated news from her soon!IloveAmerie wrote:She was going for a "acid house" and dance type sound....do you know if she's just scrapping all that and starting on new material? Or is she still polishing those up? I'd love to hear the acid house stuff, but now the whole "dance craze" is kinda over....I think everyone's tired of it. "Outside Your Body" I thought, was really good, they just needed to finish it!
I feel in love with her with Why Don't We Fall In Love video, and after I meet her back 02. She's such a wonderful person with a beautiful personality + spirit. I have so many favorite songs from her, that I can't choose. I think TAKE CONTROL is my ultimate favorite song and I wish it was a bigger hit. Do you think Cymatika will be her biggest album ever?IloveAmerie wrote:Oh it's no problem! It's nice to see more Amerie fans! What's your favorite Amerie song btw? There's so many good ones, it's hard to choose...one of my favorites is actually "Reminisce Witcha"! Crazy Wonderful is another, and of course 1 Thing!!! It's what made me fall in love with her! Sorry guys, I know that was a bit off topic..
Yeah all her albums are great! She has a song called "Streets Alone", that I really like! "Forecast Intro" was a personal favorite as well! I have lots of favorites in "All I Have". "I Just Died", "Show Me", "Talkin' To Me", and "All I Have" is amazing as well! I also loved her mix tape "Because I Love It pt.2"! She sounds really good on "Blow", and "Get Gone". I'm sure her new album will be great! She never has "weak" songs.....she always delivers hard! I miss her, and hope she gets some recognition this album!consed wrote:I feel in love with her with Why Don't We Fall In Love video, and after I meet her back 02.
