Music Week wrote:New Kylie album coming next year

Kylie Minogue will release a new album next year on EMI, Music Week can confirm.

The LP has been recorded at Abbey Road and will contain reworkings of classics from throughout Minogue's career. It celebrates 25 years since the release of her debut single Locomotion.

Minogue was at Abbey Road last night as part of the EMI New Music Sessions. She revealed she’d actually been working there for the past two weeks, as well as details of the album.

The news comes after she tweeted pictures of herself inside a studio last month pointing towards a 12th album.

“I’ve been at Abbey Road for about two weeks in total,” she revealed after performing a stripped down, orchestral version of her 2000 hit ‘On A Night Like This’.

“Not just for this, I’ve been working on a project for next year. Next year’s my 25th anniversary so we’ve been recording acoustic and orchestral versions of a number of my hits.”

The Aussie singer went on to compliment the staff at Abbey Road saying commenting on a lack of ‘attitude’ at the studio despite the music icons it has accommodated over its illustrious history.

The music industry gathered at the treasured studio for the New Music Sessions with acts including Chiddy Bang, The Good Natured, Emeli Sande and Professor Green performing live sets.

More details on Minogue's album are expected soon.

KYLIE MINOGUE will be spinning around into the comic book world when she gets her own special title in the new year.
The pint-sized pop princess is to feature in an edition of Bluewater's celebrity biography series Female Force.
See below for the cover of the upcoming title and official description.

The publisher's announcement of the title comes as the 43-year-old Australian singer prepares to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame at the ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) Awards at the end of this month, in recognition of an international recording career that has spanned a quarter of a century.
She was named most powerful celebrity in Britain in March this year, beating Cheryl Cole (who came second) and David Beckham in a study by market researchers Millward Brown.
Mark Husak, head of Millward Brown's UK media practice, said: ''Kylie is widely accepted as an adopted Brit. People know her, like her and she is surrounded by positive buzz.''
The only other non-Briton to appear in the top 10 was US actor George Clooney. Actresses Joanna Lumley, Helen Mirren and Dame Judi Dench also featured in the top 10 and were seen as positive role models.

LOL @ the comic! Random.

I remember she said about the acoustic album when she did the Live Lounge last year - based on those two performances from Abbey Road it's going to be a treat!

Can she please fire her entire team to help celebrate 25 years in the game? She's been vaguely mentioning 'making changes' in her career in interviews for 10 years but she never does anything about it...her team have effed up everything from Body language to be honest. She deserves better.

Digital Spy wrote:Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' has been named as the most-played song of the decade in a music industry poll.

The popstar's 2001 single finished above 'Toxic' by Britney Spears and Robbie Williams track 'Angels' in the survey by the Performing Rights Society For Music, which is comprised of UK composers, songwriters and music publishers.

Jamelia's 2003 song 'Superstar' and 'Just A LIttle' by Liberty X also finished in the top five.

These are all classic songs of the noughties and 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' is one of Kylie's all-time greatest hits," PRS chairman Guy Fletcher said.

The writing talent behind this top five includes legends such as Cathy Dennis and Guy Chambers, and underpins the importance of good songwriting in producing a hit.

The society revealed that the top five had been played more than 875 million times in total during the noughties.

Minogue last month expressed her pride in being inducted into the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Hall of Fame.

^ Wow, great news! :D I didn't expect that. #legend

By the way, there's a rumour circulating around Kylie forums which says Kylie's going to release two albums this year. One is the re-worked Greatest Hits album to celebrate her 25 years in the industry, and the other one is said to be a usual pop/dance album. A song written/produced by Example is already confirmed, and works with the Freemasons and the electronic music duo The Sound of Arrows are rumoured. Exciting! :D

Something by Example would be good, I love how she continuously works with the most relevant producers. I think we're at the stage now where we know a new Kylie lead single is probably going to be Top 5 and the album will be #1 but subsequent singles will fall short - not because of quality, but because artists like her and Madonna now have a more limited fanbase and anything past the lead single gets less support compared to ten years ago.

Well it looks like Example gave the mentioned song to The Wanted. :( :x

Example to help Wanted crack the US

Example is apparently set to help The Wanted break the US.
The rapper told the Daily Star he is letting the boyband record his track Chasing The Sun, which he originally wrote for Kylie Minogue, to help them get recognised in America.
Example said: "When I wrote it I was in a studio session for Kylie, so the verses were a bit spiritual. But when we finished I was like 'This is The Wanted', and didn't even bother running it past Kylie.

"I sent it straight over to their record label and they loved it.
"The guy who signed me in America is releasing the band in the States on Def Jam and he said 'this could be big in America'."
The 29-year-old rapper - real name Elliot Gleave - may have wanted to make peace with The Wanted, as last year he branded them soap extras as he said they were too perfect looking.
But Example said: "When they first came out I was wrong about them. I said they looked like a bunch of Hollyoaks extras.
"They were a bit rough around the edges like any boyband are but now they are really polished. They're good singers, performers and look great.
"A lot of people think I hate pop stars but I just don't like bad pop.
"I like it that they're not too choreographed and are like a bunch of mates bumbling around. The Wanted take their job seriously but not themselves too seriously and are not afraid to have a laugh."

The bolded part sounds awkward to me. What kind of direction did he take with the track if he could associate The Wanted with Kylie?  Disappointing news, though! :(

Woo, I've got some big news, fellas! :D

KYLIE MINOGUE IS MARKING 25 YEARS IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY WITH A YEAR OF CELEBRATIONS

Image

K25 BEGINS TOMORROW WITH A SPECIAL GIFT TO FANS ON KYLIE.COM

Can you believe it has been a quarter of a century since Locomotion was released in 1987?

Twenty five years later Kylie Minogue is still at the top of her game and she is ready to celebrate!

Kylie has chosen to mark this incredible milestone with a year of surprises and gifts for her fans.

Watch a teaser here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESCFSh5CkEY

To kick-start the celebrations, Kylie will be releasing a specially recorded acoustic version of ‘Finer Feelings’ (a Stock and Waterman hit from 1992) available to view from Kylie.com. The release is the first in a series of especially commissioned new recordings of classic Kylie songs, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Further tracks will be made available periodically throughout the year. The songs Kylie has recorded are a surprise and will be revealed on the day they become available.

Kylie will be asking her fans to ‘tweet to unlock’ the video. We will need 25,000 people to tweet #k25fans from 7pm on Wednesday 25th January, before the video will be ‘unlocked’ and available for everyone to view.

Kylie re-entered the studio last year, following the spectacular Aphrodite: Les Folies world tour, and teased fans throughout the process on Twitter with photos from inside the studio. She has been recording with long time collaborators and renowned producers Steve Anderson and Colin Elliot, the amazing Aphrodite Band, four backing vocalists and a 24 piece string orchestra, led by Cliff Masterson.

Drums: Tom Meadows Backing Vocals: Roxy Wilde
Bass: Dishan Abrahams Backing Vocals: Abbie Osmond
Guitar: Luke Fitton Backing Vocals: Zalika King
Piano: David Tench Backing Vocals: Adetoun Anibi

This track will be the first glimpse at what Kylie has in store for fans in 2012.

Wow, I can't wait to see what else they've got up their sleeves! :D The Finer Feelings recording is heartwarming and sounds beautiful.

Plus, some other news:
English singer/songwriter Luciana has confirmed that she's writing new 'classic Kylie' tunes for Kylie. I guess that means we're going to get new dance/pop tracks as well! Her songwriters for the new album so far: Luciana, Example, Freemasons (rumoured) and The Sound of Arrows (rumoured).

News again!

First of all, check out the brand new Kylie.com! It's got a new layout, new sections, wider gallery & many more. :)

Secondly, there are some news about Kylie's 12th pop album, it is now confirmed that producer Anders Hansson has just finished working with Kylie on her new album. Hansson's most famous hit is 'Relese Me', which he wrote and produced for Swedish singer Agnes.

Plus, don't forget to tweet with the hashtag #k25fans tonight at 7 PM, UK time!

I would LOVE Kylie to do something like "Release Me".

I'm not very happy with the new K25 logo and I'm not very excited by the prospect of the orchestral versions of her hits.

Although the 12th studio album would be awesome I think it's a good time for another Greatest Hits seeing as it's 25 years - in a perfect world I'd have her release the lead single to coincide with an X Factor performance and then release another one before the end of 2012 to finish the campaign, inviting her back for the final where she performs a medley of her hits.

^ I have no problem with the orchestral project, but I'm of course much more excited for her dance album. 8-)

By the way,
#K25fans managed to unlock the orchestral Finer Feelings video and got the hashtag trending worldwide!
